I thought I would start a thread for SS based info only.
Anyone can post, but please keep it SS based so others might learn from it.

I guess I'll start then.
My plan for my SS is to get the car to ET as quick as I can without tuning and go from there.
This is going to involve weight reduction.

So far I have purchased the Billet Specialties Win Light drag pack wheel set up.
Front is a 18X5 and weighs 14.2 lbs.
Rear is a 17X10 non bead lock and weighs 17.2 lbs.

Anyone else have tech related info to share?

I would be interested in any info from people who have used/owned the Darrel Cox Racing battery.
The specs suggest it has more CCA than the stocker.

Ha Ha....that's a two way street.
Don't bring anymore hot rods or trucks over to the house.

It's a good idea Mike, to have one spot for all the SS stuff to be posted. I would think it would make things easier on all of us as time goes on.

I'll start with a couple of early impressions as compared to the '19 and '21 REWB's I've had.
First, the car rides and just generally acts a ton different from its RE cousins. The computer programming changes, especially in relation to shocks and shifting are a TON better for all around drag race style "spirited driving" as they say. I am very impressed.
And a decent word of warning: Sport setting seems to have basically no nanny safety's. Yesterday I did the first 300' rolling smoky burnout I've ever been able to do with one of these cars. It's almost scary how fast it was going toward then end and the rear tires were still spinning. For me that setting is fun, but I'll not be using it much if ever, wouldn't want to accidentally pull a Mustang and end up wrapped around a pole.

Second, the ride is sooooo smooth and comfortable. My wife said it reminds her of my Mom's old Lincoln from back in the day. lol
The thing just takes bumps effortlessly. No more kidney jarring or dash rattling when hitting a basic pothole.

Well I reached 562 mile mark now let the fun begin, first order of business is an oil change at the dealer. This will be the first and only, when it gets home my P4D diff braces will go on I also have win lites drag pack with bead locks. It will be at a track soon.

That 500 mile mark is interesting to me. Not only does the car wake up a good bit but, on the RE's at least, fuel mileage went up about 3mpg. I find it interesting that Dodge intentionally runs unneeded fuel through these engines for the first 500 miles.
We drove mine some this week. It's at about 200+ miles right now. It'll be that way for the next several days as we're headed to the gulf today to finish up some refresh stuff on a rental condo we have there.
On a different note: we went to a cruise in on Friday evening. The car got tons of attention. I was really surprised at how many people knew it was a Super Stock. That was pretty cool IMO.

I've had my DCR battery since April of 2019 and it's been flawless. Never has failed me or went dead once. I do keep it on a trickle charger anytime my Cat will sit more than a week without me driving it.

It's good to know the battery is holding up for you.

Bo, chance of you weighing the new beast prior to any weight reduction? Say with 1/2 tank. Yeah I know, who is this guy!

Nice to hear about the super stock rides smoother than the redeye. Amazing the difference tires make.

I've spent a lot of time looking at the tune in the redeye and I see no area or a way to change the tune at 500 mile mark.

Speaking of tuning. I wonder if our 2019 Redeye ECU is compatible with the 21 SS.
It would be nice to send it in to be unlocked and ready just in case.
Maybe Curt would know.

My car dosen't sit for more than a week with out being driven. I do live in Florida. We have winter for about 2 days out of 365. Dealership told me I need to start the critter every day. Don't know about all that but the heat takes it out of the bat er ee. I put it on a 2 amp charger every otta day. Drive or not. Driven yesterday and will be driven today.

There's a scale at a local Co-op. I've weighed the other cars there and it seems accurate. I am planning to weigh the SS there next time I'm going that direction.

It's definitely more than just tires IMO. I've driven a few thousand miles between the other RE's with the 18" front and 17" rears and this thing rides smoother than the others. I've always heard that about the Demons too so now I'm thinking their smooth ride is from more than just their different springs.

It’s my understanding that 18 -21 are the same ECU
