So we know the Demon is advertised as a 9.65 @140 mph car. Anyone have any info on the range the time slips had? Obviously the 9.65 was the PB run, but I'm curious what the others might have been or the average. Has that info been published?

Didn't someone run a 9.71 stock setup? That's pretty dang close. I was at Beech Bend and a lady had a destroyer grey Demon and ran 9.8x over and over and over, like 10 times lol. She was having a ball. DA was low pretty good like +200 or so.

I'm mainly curious how much work it took in those perfect conditions for the engineering team to hit that number. If they had a run of 9.7x and then a 9.65 that's good data for us. If they were all over the place 9.9x 10.x 9.8x and then got a unicorn 9.65 that's good data for us as well.

I also heard they went through a couple driveshafts and an axle but that could be rumor?

No Unicorns. Any Demon properly set up will run 9's. On Sunday at the Legions Private EVERY Demon there ran a 9. I think like 35-38 Cars.

The Lady you are talking about was most like Catherine. She is top notch and her car is set up properly for absolute sure. SHe is one of the fastest Demons out there.

I ran 9.71X 4 times in Houston all on the same day, so no fluke. I actually beat Dodge's incrementals to the 330 foot (see time slip), but then I ran out of gas. Jim wilder told me that he did that several times during development and trying to set the record. I had a 19MPH head wind and I needed 4 more pounds of fuel. So without the head wind I would have EASILY been sub 9.65. But my car has aftermarket wheels and a lighter battery. I will say that my body weight offsets much of the weight reduction compared to Leah. Now I have even lighter wheels and better fuel (I think).

I will say I have 100% stock powertrain and tune. ANYTHING that has to do with Power is factory stock (but well prepared). But I have no interest in running factory wheels to be pure factory stock. No normal Challenger, Mustang or Camaro ever runs factory stock wheels and tires at the Drag strip and puts up a good number. So there is no way I am going to do that to try and prove anything. In fact I will be runing a SMALLER rear tire than stock this January.

Here is an example of what the wind did to us and the potential of my Car. In the morning with 19 mph head wind I ran 9.715 at about -1500 DA. In the afternoon at 4:30 with about a 5mph head wind and only -500 DA I ran 9.718 TWO times back to back.

awesome!

That's good data. You def had a sub 9.65 run going there. I thought you had run the 9.71s.

Do you know the race weight of your car?

Cool. The Demon race pm tune is pretty hot. Without good prep I'm betting it's tricky to get off the line. Taking a degree or 2 out down low would likely make for better results at less the optimally prepped tracks.

Ron can answer himself to confirm, but he footbrakes for his best results.

@Speedy! At the Houston LOD event I ran 9.89 with stock wheels and tires. The only mod was passenger seat removed. I know for a fact another driver with passenger seat removed as the only mod ran either 9.81 or 9.82 (memory fuzzy) also on factory wheels and tires.

Awesome sounds from that motor. No speaker assist I assume. Lol. The 2-3 shift sounds faster than the 1-2. Also, he says look at temp. I see no gauge info at all, only dash cam straight out off nose footage. Am I missing something?

Were most of the fast passes made in

Houston from a dead idle on foot brake?

Most were footbraking for best results and throttling in the 1200 to 1500 rpm range. You need to load the drivetrain to limit the shock. Even with great track prep we were not able to go full throttle immediately out of the hole. Rolling into the throttle until the front end comes up and then mat it. Until you get the timing down relative to track conditions you may spin or get wheel hop. Please lift immediately if you have wheel hop so you don’t suffer the rear diff blues.
