Now Bowee, dat ain't dat funny if you'v bean dare. I have, 1 unce. Ingaged da rest of my life. I wurked maintenance alot and dare is really no time off. I wurked new construction 2 understand da equipment, ha, then wurked on da stuff. If it breaks, we bee dare, if it wurks we want 2 know why,, on and on. Butt, inturdsting. I, myself, is da thanken about groen back to college. Again fer da turd time, 3, no. Snot 2 meat gals, butt not a bad place. Dun it befoe. Moe engineeren classses. 2 learn how da feee male body wurks evan bettah. Girls 2 you yanks. Da study waz dun ears ago and humansdacockus do snot produce, yea dat, at wurk past 52 hours. Luze inturdness, consintration, moood swangs, watt everz. Wee ass humandoocacus do not producee in a non sexual wayz.

But word is this deal with Fords is "Historic" for workers
Major improvements across the board
Wages
Benefits
Pensions for current & legacy ( lifetime pensions )
Health care
Etc

So this will give you an idea what the UAW will likely follow closely
What else will likely happen is all the feeder plants will be looking for improvements

Its going to be an interesting few years

If you think cars and trucks are expensive now. Hold onto your pocketbooks, because they just got more expensive. Corporations pass those costs onto the consumer to maintain their profitability for the investors. It's a viscous circle that will never end, with the unions demanding more of the profits in the future again. (((SMFH)))

For those waiting on cars

The next target in Ontario will be GM & not Stellantis
The Windsor plant is shutting down in 5 weeks for retooling to build the new EV Charger
No use targeting them if they are shutting down 1 of the main plants soon

As of now there is no disruption

I miss spoke

The plant is shutting down for 5 weeks not in 5 weeks
I believe today is the shutdown

There is already talk this will be extended to 8 weeks

But yes this is good news as far as strike targets

Da point bee en, dat duu situation does not have 2 get to ware the union has to ask for a 46% increase in pay. Much less what da cost of livin asspence is. Thay need 2 have a contract dat has an increase in pay fer mutiple years. This hole situation could have been avoided if da asses at the international had dun thare jobs. Non consistant open conversability bee tween da 3. Plum stupid. Now, da strike fund, shut down interuptions with da machines, air and chiller, boiler start ups. Good god da $$s 2 bring da plants back up. Us cumsumers will be payen fer it for many ears. Stupid.

UAW wants return of the traditional pension, not going to happen, I predict a very long strike. Ford has moved on UAW wages, not the elephant in the room. GM and Stellantis seemed resigned to a long strike. If Ford were for some reason to agree to UAW wish list, zowser, GM and Stellantis would not pattern off it and Katy bar the door.

The unions will cave and the monies the employees lose standing on the picket line will never be made up after a contract is agreed upon. Does anyone remember how empty the car lots were during the pandemic ? They are full again so the inventory will need depleted again. Who do you think can hold out longer ?

You are correct, auto prices will go through the roof. The outcome will be much fewer US auto jobs, people will not pay the higher prices, as most people are unable to afford the massive increases, for new cars. The result will be more imports and offshore parts production. Auto workers, in the US have decreased dramatically over the years and will continue at an alarming rate, due to the high wages/benefits. I always buy American/Canadian, whenever possible, but when new car prices are thousands higher, for domestic built, this is not good...

I'm not sure what the car lots look like in your neck of the woods, but around here they may not be as full as pre-covid levels in 2019 but looking at google earth time line images, they are not lacking in stock. So, full was a poor choice of words on my part. The lots look pretty full and they aren't spacing the cars out anymore to make the lots look fuller than they actually were. One dealer north of here was wiped out by massive hail that totaled every car on their lot and have since erected covers to protect their inventory.

You’re inferring union members don’t want to work? Union members for the most part are very hard workers and always working! I work an average of 74hrs a week EVERY WEEK!! Plus holidays and shut downs! Plus most union membership is conservative, it’s the actual union “leadership” that are lib nuts with few sprinkled into the general work force!
You would think the Conservative Members would not elect Liberal Whack Jobs into leadership positions.

Unifor / CAW is voting this weekend with Ford of Canada
So by Monday the contract info will hit the media
This will set a pattern for GM & Stellantis in Canada if the vote passes

Word is between 24 to 28 percent pay increases
This will be spread out over 4 years & I m guessing the first year will be the biggest increase
Newbies will get up to top tier wages faster
Toss in cost of living allowance & things for workers would look real good
I m guessing the UAW will end up pretty close to this as well even thou they are asking for more

Something tells me there is going to be a lot of striking going on in the next year

Wt my, and self, da .union wurkers were in much part hard wurkers. Thare were da brutha in laws, 4 times remuved, sittin on dare asses. But day kept buzy, but day didn't teach da subwhore ants nuthin. I waz a 40 ear mechanic and da sheet metal machanics, 5 years, wood snot show me nuttin. Like a short cut 2 metal 90s with a curtain miter. They didn't want 2 show me nuthin. Like thay were born with this knowledge. Don't think so. I knew this stuff ears ago but bee en 25 ears, foreget. Ass holes. Snot been known fer holden my speach, I didn't. At breaks and lunch I sat at da supra's table ware no speach waz held. Most like me were in da union but assked by da union 2 wurk and teach.
Now, what da unions do in Canader duz snot mean a hill of beanz in da US. Ass long az da UAW is on strike, the Teamster's will not cross da line. It will stop all, whore most, of da trans port of autos, trucks, and parts. Da factories will bee shut down ass ept fur maintenance.

In the US, the pension ask is what might keep UAW strking longer. UAW never expected 40% raises. 28% would be a good get for them.

Whats still confusing to me is if CAW are working, hows that play out if UAW is not working. Plants in Canada are still presumably dependent upon receiving parts and shipping services between the US and Brampton, right?

2 stay open, day will need da support team frum utter plants 2 servive. You have parts plantz and assembly plants 2 rely on each utter,, correct? Sum in da US, sum in Canader, sum in Maxico. 1 feeds da utter?? I have worked on da construction of da plants. Mostly the energy and power plantz.
