I'm not about to get a hybrid. At least not as long as there's something available that is gas or diesel powered. Even if it means getting another Class 8 tractor.
Aside from the potential fire risks, I'm one of those who push a vehicle (if possible) or pull it with another one rather than having to cold start it if it needs to be moved a few feet Driving a hybrid seems to be a series of cold starts.
If I understand it correctly, when getting to a hill or when passing another car, the engine will kick in to proved the extra power. Well, it's still cold, and suddenly asked to produce all it can, instantly. Next time it fires up it won't be quite as cold, but not correctly warmed up either.
Looks like I'm not the only one who has wondered about this as Amsoil has released an oil specifically for this brutal application.
