It’s advertised that no tune is required. Altitude is not an issue for me.

This is possibly on my next to do list, so I'm weighing it out also. I'm stock at sea level

I believe it adds 2psi of boost and they claim no tune required. Lots of people have been using them and seem to like them. With a Redeye though, I don't know if you can get away without a tune since they already run higher boost levels than a standard Hellcat.

My concern is the belts are not on the damper ( balancer ) anymore , so does it still do it's job with the slide on pulley bolted to the damper , or will it throw the damper out of wack ?....& cause main bearing issues down the road ?

I ran the crap out of mine with no tune before I tuned. Logs all looked good everytime. Would I run one without a tune in the future. Yes but remember every car is different.

I would advise anybody wanting to increase boost on pump gas to do some study on why and how the pcm responds to protect the engine. Producing dyno numbers while icing the supercharger between pulls is not the real heat soaked world that it sees on the street. The real issue with any mod that increases boost is the fuel. If you increase boost without tuning..... you better be prepared to increase your fuel octane one way or another. If you don’t.... increasing boost under real world conditions is going to cause knock. When that happens.... mother pulls the timing and you’ve gained nothing.

So far from Steve Ripa (who makes it), he recommends running 93 octane if you run it or something like boostane to increase your octane levels if you can only access 91. I've heard some people mention things like this product could cause your car to go into "catalytic overtemp" where it compensates and dumps more fuel into the car for emissions. Lost of people seem to like the product though. It hasn't been out long enough to know about long term effects, like if that extra weight on the balancer will be a problem or not. It is being sold as "doesn't need a tune", and being sold as won't destroy your warranty. However, that last bit assumes a lot. That your dealer is either okay with it, doesn't read into the logs (if something major fails, FCA will most likely read into why before forking out lots of money).

I personally wouldn't run ANY pulley without a tune, regardless of what is said by others. Not only are you risking that your car will compensate for the added boost, but you are leaving power on the table by not tuning it. However, most aren't tuning it because they are trying to keep their warranty.

@curt_dusterhofftuning

I believe Curt works with Steve. He is a tuner and might be able to give his advice on the product and what he recommends (tuning or not).

I will say one pro from my understanding is installation, and that's it's pretty simple. Especially when compared to an upper like the Hellraiser.

I have talked with the dealership concerning these products,, in length. After purchasing an extended warranty,, I wanted to know what I could do or not. 99% of what I wanted to do was to not. If there is no problems things are rosy, But, and I was the but. I installed a K & N intake and that was all. Then Dodge made me take it off if I wanted them to flip the, over $30, 000 worth of work done under warranty. But if I had gone with what I wanted to do, my name would be shitsky and forking out the $$$. So, I will stick with the program and either wait or purchase another car out of warranty. 1st time in my life I have left a car be with out taking it apart. Dodge rep was great to work with and we both know why the car was having problems. My fault, but he signed off on the work twice. Intake, catch can, and exhaust is about all mods you can do. Oh, pedal performer said walking the line.

Both I ran it around 20 times at the track without a tune. Racked up some good mileage too. I have 11,000 miles now and over 40 timeslips.

I personally wouldn't run it without datalogging the before and after install. No tune is required for datalogging. I like piece of mind that everything is good.
