Read about it last night after reading your post. I am in Tucson. I used to go up to Chandler. My mom lives 13 minutes from the track.
I did not like all the bad attitudes up there.
It is a much faster track than tucson as DA is 2000 feet lower and I heard a smidgen down hill vs uphill in tucson.
But any track that closes is bad.
So we have gone from 3 down to 1 track. There used to be another near Sun City. North west of Phoenix.
Well that will be good business for Tucson dragway.
It will become busier and not close itself.

Used to be known as Firebird. They opened that huge Indian casino next door and changed the name. It all used to be out in the middle of shitsdesert nowhere. I’m betting there’s more to it than a freeway overpass. I’m betting the Indian casino people are seeing more of what they have going on there in the future. The one I would bet is in jeopardy is Pomona. I can believe that is still there.

Yes. I’m saying that a expansion of the “gaming facilities” is probably a undisclosed part of the whole thing. The on-ramp being there will just be one of the features of that. That track isn’t really used that much. It’s not like they have weekly events like some tracks around the country do. Other than the big annual NHRA event, what do they do there? Track rentals once a month or so and the twice a month midnight test and tunes. Thats about it.

That’s true. Not to get too personal. But my 86 plus yr. Old mom had a bad car accident in chandler this week. Three broken ribs and two lower broken legs. I just got back to tucson after visiting her at chandler regional. I have a rental house 25 minutes south of her. So my wife and I are going to move into that as my mom needs help. My 16 and 18 yr old daughters and one of their girlfriends are going to rent our tucson home. I will come down to tucson twice a week to service my clients and build up a small practice in Phoenix. Darn I move up there and now there will be no drag strip. I just need to step up to the plate for mom. You never know what life is going to throw at you.
