And as usual, I didn't do a thing to mine today. But did start considering selling my favorite car.

Why? It'd be part of my latest quest to slow down a bit. One of these days my luck will run out and I'll either run off the road or lose my license. Sure, I could just drive it more slowly, right? Not really. If not going fast on twisty roads, what fun would it be?

Been struggling with this all my driving life. Went from road course racing to getting a stock Jeep CJ2A, which definitely slowed me down (there was really a completely different reason for that switch, but still), then back to another sports car, then to a '65 Cadillac that forced me to slow down. And so on.

Got heavily into four wheeling, where the object was generally to be able to go as slowly as possible. Then relapsed into going (too) fast again. Even sold the Jeep, which my girlfriend still can't believe I did - if anything she figured I'd be buried in it. So if I could sell that Jeep, I should be able to sell the Challenger.
Jimmie...Jimmie...Jimmie my good man...I feel your lack of interaction with humanity...(due to your self imposed exile to parts unknown)...has induced a certain degrees of irrational thought...sell yer favorite car you say...are ya fuckin crazy...take some time..go to NYC...watch the Yankees play...go to Key West...lie on the beach...talk to people..do something....but in the name of all things Holy...DONT sell yer car..:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

And again, if I don't want to/can't drive fast with it, what's the point of owning it?
I drive fast, at the dragway and Land Speed Trials. Very exciting! And knowing what the car can and has done, it is very cool drive slow around town! Nothing to prove. Just a little tire slip on the hgwy entrance ramp at 70 or so, otherwise slow and cool!

Like a hot wife, great eye candy to have on your arm in public, but you do the business at home! :ROFLMAO:

Nearly 40 years on Sport-bikes learns-ya the same lessons. You don't have to drive/ride fast, all the time. If ya do, it'll git ya.

I just turned 69, and bought this about 6 months ago....

Correct, you don't. But if not driving fast I might as well drive something else.

Hmm. Go to New York, watch sports, lay on a beach. Any of those makes driving off a cliff side seem appealing in comparison. At least then I'd get to kill myself (as opposed to in NY), or die by boredom (sports, beach).

But you're kinda right. Today my girlfriend took her RSQ8 to town (some 200+ miles) and really enjoyed it. "Doesn't feel fast at all...don't know how I got up to 90." she said. Last time she drove it was probably in October. I could keep the 'Cat and only drive it very occasionally. Or even not at all...it still looks great sitting still.

Alright, but without a town to drive slowly in, and with no highway onramps, that basically leaves roads that are fun to drive fast on. No road course tracks around either as far as I know.

It'd probably be smarter to go to Radford once a month or so and get the fast out of my system that way.

Finally got someone with a brain to look at the car. Well there was a recall for the cats and 02 sensors several years ago that I elected not to have done. So the left bank cat failed internally so bad it bent the 02 sensor. I’ll send pictures shortly. Both cats and sensors are being replaced under the recall. No,@Jon-MooredPerformanceLLC they are not flashing my PCM😉.

I skipped that recall myself

:unsure::unsure::unsure:

Cat got an alignment + brake fluid flush/change yesterday. They tried to fix the weird 'rubbing' sound @ low speed coming from the steering column but no joy on that :(.

They applied the TSB that called for lubing the boot & steering shaft where it meets the firewall. The Tech agreed that the noise was coming from inside the car and said most of the time that fixes the issue. He suggested I drive it for a while and give the grease time to work itself in & see if that makes a difference. Next step is to tear into the rest of the column, tilt pack & wheel - he didn't seem too eager to go down that path & neither am I. At least they didn't charge me anything for the effort !!

I've got that rubbing sound too, had it since day one.

Mine started a while back & has gotten worse. Researching it, turns out to be a common issue across model years & even with other brands. The universal solution seems to be to load up the rubber cap & bushing where the shaft meets the fire wall. The whole assembly looks like a toilet plunger

Tech said mine was pretty dried out (FL is a beotch on rubber things), so it might get better as the grease works it way into everything down there.
