Enjoy Radford!! Wife and I had a blast last November and hope to go back again for a longer class.
Yeah, I did the 2-day about two months ago, and suggested she'd also do it. Unfortunately for her, it'll be much warmer there now.

I brought my own accommodations, she's catching a plane today. Probably wearing a jacket and driving to the airport with the heater on, to practice for AZ temps.

That's at 14 feet above sea level (same as the house).
One of the hurricanes (not Katrina), and cannot recall which, water was right up to my front porch.
My cousin canoed up my driveway.

How far from the Gulf are you?

About 2 miles north of I10.
But still considered (by FEMA) as Zone A, same as a coast dwelling.

We're just a little over 4 miles from the Atlantic Ocean as the crow flies. A little higher than you at 32'.

I recently came across a flood zone map for this place.

I think it said "high danger", or something to that effect. And yes, it's obvious that a whole bunch of water came through here at some point, or there wouldn't river rock only about four feet below current ground level. But that must've been tens of thousands of years ago. If not millions.

These days the river is at least 40 feet lower than the house, and with no dams upstream I don't think it's overly likely that we get flooded.

Hunter, and DavidKFla, consider that the more alligators you pluck out of the water, the lower the sea level will get.

Drive it around for a while and enjoyed it a lot on a Chamber of Commerce day here in the Twin Cities.

Went to Home Depot and had to use it to haul a 2’x4’ piece of plywood back home. No problem. Great versatile cars!

Drove mine down to the beach (normal routine), then to Gautier, to an old friend that retired a few years ago.

DGatzby, could you please keep the weather in your neck of the woods, and WSW of there, under control for a few days?

The new "new" GT AWD is leaving MI early this week on a transporter. I can only hope it's on the lower deck with all the hail and crap that seems to be a daily occurrence now.

You should be good, it is flat beautiful up here. Your problem may occur closer to the Rockies. I see lots of wind forecast for that area since I need to come that way tomorrow.

It's in St. Clair, at a Cadillac dealer.

I sure hope they get a late start on that transport as it looks like more storms, hail, and tornadoes along the way today. If nothing else, a spot on the lower deck would be a good thing.

Right. I-90 probably okay. However I-80, I-70 and you may have problems. More south, forget about it.

Depending on if he has other stops or not, the most direct route would be I-70.

I'm just glad that the deal on the "high mileage" one in MO fell through.

Whether driving or trailering, there hasn't been a single day in about a week and a half that there hasn't been storm/hail/tornado threats between here and there.

Aside from making the trip a bit simpler, driving would've only resulted in one car being hail damaged or flopped on its roof. That's better than it happening to the 3500, trailer, and car.

Besides, at less than a dollar per mile, the transport from MI is probably cheaper than I could've done it for. And I'll be less worn out for the trip to Colorado Springs late this week, or next, to pick up her new little Porsche..
