Hi everyone my name is Jim and I just got a new frostbite 2020 charger hellcat widebody. I’m looking forward to all the forum can offer
I just took delivery on Friday morning , I have around 40 miles on it as of now. I’m kind of worried about going anywhere. I hope that someone can help me with this problem. It runs and drives great but when I shut it off and leave it off for 10min-1hr it won’t start, it turns over like the middle of summer but won’t fire
I called my local dealer and they are booked up until November (had to get it from a different dealer,local couldn’t get me one) .local dealer said to call roadside assistance to bring it to the shop and they would try to fit it in ☹️.sorry for the long post I hope I haven’t broken any protocol, I’m just happy and disappointed at the same time. Hopefully they can get to it and fix before snow starts

Sounds like a bad purge valve. Havent heard of this with Hellcats very often but maybe it’s a place to start looking.

How long did the car sit on the lot? How old is the Fuel and just try this for the heck of it

and yeah a long shot but fuel is a huge issue. Since fuel has ethanol in it three things happen to fuel that sits. It separates to water, Fuel and then ethanol. This then creates a water issue and bad fuel.

Wouldnt run so good like he says it does if the fuel was contaminated.
I’m sticking with faulty purge valve.

Congrats on the new car! Check out the thread linked in the above post by ChargerChallenger and see if it sounds like what you might be experiencing. If it were me I'd try a new battery (in the trunk passenger side easy to get to) and fresh tank of gas. Might not be that simple but its worth a shot and can be done quick and easy with no dealer visit.

BS about a dealership not even attempting to look at (with new car). Screw appointments.
If I were @DodgeCares I would want the name of the dealership.
Drive it in to them, tell them it doesn't work, and demand a free rental until fixed?

Others have pointed to the gas. Try running the gas out then fill it.

The local dealer is thinking about that and he thinks maybe maybe one of the fuel rails is getting vapor

We have ethanol free fuel here and I just filled it up Friday when it was delivered. It was about an 1/8 of a tank when I got it. According to the dealer it wasn’t on the lot very long

If I were in the market for a Charger Hellcat, that's the one I'd pick! I like the color with the stripes!

-Sorry to hear you're having an issue with it already.....hopefully its nothing major and the last issue you see with it. You would think since you just bought it, that dealer would bump you up in line to have it diagnosed at least. Maybe @DodgeCares can do something....

I don’t know how to post correctly but I just wanted you guys that the dealer I bought it from,their service manager has texted me 3 times today to check on my progress with my local dealer
They told me if I don’t get satisfaction from my local dealer they will have the district manager get involved and contact them
The dealer I bought it from seems to be awesome, I wish I was closer and I would definitely take it to them
