Not sappy at all. It is just a car, and it can be cleaned, polished, painted, repaired or replaced. My Dad was really good about sharing his toys and building automotive experiences with my brother and I. Imagine being 18 years old and driving a blacked out '86 Buick T-type to school or drag racing in an L89 396 powered '81 Malibu (both that we built as a family). He didn't have to share, but he did. My kids have the car bug - so how can I not cultivate that further in order to strengthen our bond?

I look forward to them getting their licenses and asking to borrow a car, then pointing them to the garage and saying: take your pick.

That's the same way I grew up with my dad . When I turned 16 while my friends got 4 cylinder $hit boxes my dad and I was looking at a 69 dart swinger with a 440 lol. The deal fell through and I ended up with a 68 roadrunner 383 4speed . My kids have been in all my vehicles.

Lmao I still go out to my garage just to look at my car sometimes my wife will ask where I'm going and I tell her I have to check something and she says " you are just going out to look at your car again aren't you " lol

Its a sickness that takes a strong woman to acknowledge, and a stronger woman to accept. Fortunately mine is shopping for a white hardtop '91 or '92 Z28 which, if my TBSS sells, I am going to rush out and buy for her. It is like being a heroin addict and your enabler/dealer is also your lover/best friend.

I think it is getting 35% tint, and all of my other autocross cars have been tinted. I wonder how cone-rash is going to show up?

I can get new upholstery, I cannot turn back time to regain the memories lost from not bringing my family along with me.

Thankfully at 4 and 6 they aren't too messy.

I understand believe me. My dad used to take me out in his 1970 Challenger T/A. He would yell out the gears and I would shift for him from the passenger seat as early as I can remember. There still must be rules like no eating in the car. I hope you make those great memories in your car with your kids. These day's I just picture kids in the back of a Hellcat not even caring playing on there Iphones.

Car/truck, stick/auto, RWD/AWD, white/black, Dodge/Chevy, no options/fully loaded, two doors/more doors, cloth/leather, fair weather/bad weather, two scoops/no scoops, etcetera etcetera.

About the only thing they have in common are their supercharged 6L+ V8 power plants - totalling almost 1400hp; and both scare the shit out me.

The only vehicle that the kids are allowed to eat in is their Momma's truck - it is like a GD Petri dish by comparison to my cars. But, ice cream on the tailgate of the wagon is always fun. The girls are being raised to respect cars and treat them well - very important at cars shows.

My stuff tends to be on the more subdued side of the hobby - needs to fit and look stock(ish). The turbo engine in my MCSS is supposed to fit under the stock flat hood - although I do have a cowl hood for it. I relocated the battery a few weeks ago to allow for the filter to be placed in the void.

Looking under the car the only "tell" should be the 4" down pipe/exhaust.

Was at a cruise in once and a 5 year old kid asked if he could sit in my car. I said sure, opened the door and he TOOK OFF HIS SHOES to get in. I high fived the dad LOL
