Optional Super Stock 'High Speed Engine Controller' ?

I just noticed this on the Dodge Build & Price website as a N/C option and have NO idea what this is ?

Good thing / bad thing ???

Will the car go faster with it ?? LOL !!!

It's N/A on Hellcat or Red Eye --- just SS ?

I believe you are correct. The DRs on the SS are speed limited, so they limit the car's top speed. But, if you swap out and put proper 186+ mph Y rated radials on the car, then that mod would unlock the speed limiter.

I just got off the phone with SRT and it's still vague.

They said it does remove the top speed limit, BUT requires the tires to be swapped out for a higher rated ones.

They weren't sure if the dealer has to be involved to verify the tires before removing the 168 mph limitation ?

They're putting a request in to their tech department for clarity.

I hope ??? to be ordering a SS before the week is over and at this point I'm not sure if I should check off that option or not ?

I'll report back as soon as I hear back from SRT.

If you need the limiter changed, Alfa OBD I believe has a way to as well...going off memory, will check when I am home.

SRT Tech never got back to me with details of the High Speed Engine Controller and my dealer was unaware of the option so I ordered the car without it.

It's a moot issue anyway because I have no intention of going 203 MPH or 168 for that matter.

Very exciting machine, now the dreaded waiting game !!

I think its exactly what you said - the drag radials aren't speed rated that high (mine are 149) and I'm sure from a safety standpoint they don't want to be sued with a line like "how come you put tires on a car that blow out over 170 when the car can go 203? Huh? Huh?"

Then you could go The Kennedy Space Center and do high speed aerodynamic testing, they regularly get to ~200mph

That's interesting it's shown on the window sticker because other 2021 Super Stock window stickers (US) do NOT show it. According to SRT all SS cars incorporate the High Speed Engine Controller which as you know limits the top speed to 168 due to the Drag Radial tires.
Also I noticed the 27S Super Stock option is $30,000 for Canada and $20,600 for US.

I believe the SRT Performance Spoiler and the "Barracuda" Spoiler are one of the same. For some reason US orders are $995 and Canadian orders are @ $875.

You're right, the Canadian 2021 SS Window Sticker shows as High Performance Engine Controller whereas the Dodge Build & Price website shows it as High Speed Engine Controller, although it appears like it was added in ? ---- I suspect it's one of the same ?
