O geez. Now that has me a bit more worried. The tire shop told me not to worry about it. I did some Google research and a lot of people said it’d be fine. That they just took a little off their speed raiding. Which these are 186.
I told the guy at the tire shop well I do hit 150 on these sometimes. He said I wouldn’t worry about it. Which he could tell I was because I asked him 3 times.
the guy I bought the car from wants the tires. Maybe I just sell him the 2 for 350 bucks and call it a day?
Chances are it will be fine...I cant see a reputable shop chancing the liability issue if they weren't sure...had I not had my experience..I probably would not give it another thought...

You worry to much. I would have put a plug in it at my house and called it a day. Would not have been the first:)

I put a Safety Seal plug in one of my girlfriend's 911 Turbo S tires about two years ago.
That's technically not a repair, just a fix, but I have enough faith in those plugs after decades of using them that I trust them not only for myself, but for her even faster cars, too.

Now that you mention it, yes. And actually more than that.
But I prefer to keep her alive and well, or I'd lose many perks that money can't buy.

I think she’s too young to have that kind of polio vax scar. That was our generation’s mark of excellence.

I don’t see what the big deal is, that tire will definitely take you all the way to the scene of the crash.

In all honest though, perfectly fine for daily driving. Unless you're a maniac, then you should probably get a new tire. Cheap insurance.

Also, the correct way is both a patch and plug in one. Grind down the inside of the tire to make a nice, clean surface, add some glue to the patch, insert from the inside and then trim the excess on the outside. Will wear and blend in on the ride home.

I've said this before, but if it were my tire, I'd put a plug in it and call it good.

With that said, I also wouldn't take that tire to much above highway speeds (our version of highway speeds)

Would I run the Standing Mile up to 175mph with it? Not a chance.

My <.02
