Best tracks for top speed

Hello all I’ve looked online for top speed tracks with minimal results . My search shows the salt flats and a air strip or two and a couple in the northeast . I’m hoping to find one in or near Tennessee !

Thanks Hickster I had no idea the camp grounds in bowling green have a track that long . I’d like to work my way up to the top end of my Hellcat one day ! What is the name of the track in Cleveland TN ?

I have for forgotten. I grew up in Chattanooga and we used to go to a track in Ringold, Ga. In Bowling Green,,, used to go to the drag strip there for the finals of motor cycle racing. They are close to ya.

I grew up in Chattanooga and we use to go to Brainerd drag way in the 80’s . But what I’m looking for is somewhere to run 170-200 mph !! I’m looking for a long straight track for top end speed !

Yes Brainard. Till a few people got killed there and they shut it down. Just put the car on a dyno machine. Cheaper than the Salt Flats.

The same thought has crossed my mind at that speed ! I plan on putting a new set of tires on getting them scrubbed in and trying to get some top end speed passes in ! I’ve always wanted to go 200 if my brain doesn’t talk me out of while trying !

6 months ago I got clocked atb147 in a 55,,,, radar, scrambler never went off. I got a letter from the SA office asking me to pay the fine of $400 for doing 30 mph over the speed limit. No court, no points, just a fine. He must know me or his family does. I could have used the $400 but he cut me a huge break. The Flats would be a blast. Yes new rated tires.

The fastest road race in the world is the Silver State Classic Challenge held on Nevada's Route 318, with a record average race speed of 353.48 km/h (219.6430 mph), achieved by Robert Allyn (driver, USA) and David Bauer (navigator, USA) during the 2017 Nevada Open Road Challenge on 21 May 2017.

This is another event that I want to do.

A few things to think about:

They have a somewhat convoluted Rookie/Veteran approach to entry.
They are somewhat strict about race prep versus which class you can compete in.
The highway patrol supposedly will treat you as a "speeder" if you break out of your class???

The Salt Flats still has a line painted on it from the event a couple of weeks ago. Without that, pretty sure you’d have a hard time going any distance in a straight line . Mind blowing how wide open it is out there.

The flats are a lot harder to drive on than they look to be. Bumpy and easy to get out of control. A world unto itself.

Is that 3 miles in that pic ?... it doesn't look like it, and I bet at close to 200 mph, it doesn't seem that long ether.

SSCC is good. Big Bend Open Road Race out here is pretty nice as well. They fly some of the cars in for the "unlimited" class. This year they're running two races. One back in april, one October 16th.
