My ‘22 Hellcat Challenger Widebody 717hp only has 1250 miles on it and I’m getting super excited because the weather is getting better so I can take it out of winter storage. Like the title says, what mileage should I add the oil separator and breather? Should I put more miles on it first?

Do any of you guys have both an oil separator and breather? From the research I’ve done, it sounds like they’re both beneficial.

And I’m sure I’ll get some smarta$$ answers to my first question Lol….but I don’t care.

I have both on my car. I would get them on as soon as possible. No point in her ingesting oil mist any longer than needed.

I have JLT's on all 3 in my stable. I just put the one on my new Charger last weekend at 15 miles on the odo - had it ready and waiting. I just do not want oil in the intake tract where it doesn't belong. I got a little lazy last oil change on the Durango and went a year and a half (oil life was at 31%), and the dang thing was nearly full to my surprise!

I’ve tried a few brands and the best in my opinion is the UPR remote fender mount unit with check valve. It catches EVERYTHING, my blower, intake valves, piston tops, and spark plugs stay spotless. Here’s as picture just a month or so back when I had the heads off to replace head gaskets and upgrade the studs to stronger custom age 625 studs at almost 5000 miles, of running on E85. A good catch can is your friend.

The JLT on our DSRT fills up pretty quick as well.

My experience with a catch can on different cars i still have oil on the inside of the intake. 3 different cars and different brand catch cans. Yes the can also would have some in it

UPR catch can and the breather is the only way to go. Do it now.

I also have the UPR fender mount catch can and crankcase breather combo and I am very happy with it.

I suggest a vented catch can like the Motion Raceworks. That way nothing gets returned to the engine.

‘After researching, several guys said they didn’t have much oil in their CC when they also had a breather that replaced the oil fill cap. I just ordered a Metco breather. I’ll probably get a CC too though. It won’t hurt and it can only help.

I have a CC and breather. Just drops in it at every oil change which is really frequent.

Tracy Lewis https://tracylewisperformance.com/, dual valve, remote mount catch can mounted away from the engine heat will catch loads of condensation and oil mist. It has a drain valve on the bottom so you don't need to remove the can to drain.

Looks pretty sweet but it's pricey
