We've all been programmed to believe that we're not worth a lot at our jobs while the corporations and their "executives" earn millions, if not hundreds of millions.

The auto workers gave up their pensions in good faith to help out the "corporations". While the top executives in the union and companies continue to earn top wages. Why can't they get back their pensions?

Any company in any industry reacts to what the competition is doing. Defined pensions gave the old big 3 an insurmountable cost disadvantage to their competitors. Even without currently paying a defined benefits package, they are still at a huge wage disadvantage.

Another week and a few more plants down and they will have already lost more than the contract would cost the companies over the entire four year contract!

This is what I was saying (trying?) before, I have some level of empathy for a $16/hr worker, but that quickly fades as we are approaching $40-50/hr. That's mid-level degreed engineer level money!
