I will admit the Hellcat kicked my ass, and I did not like the taste of the defeat. So the Hellcat will be retired and enjoyed as a once in a while car. Not a single part will be taken from it, and I will relish in the car does not owe me anymore and can be driven freely.

I am currently on my way to look at a shell that I will be putting my old Hellcat motor into. This is going to be a race car and if it breaks, I’ll just go hop in my Hellcat and go grab coffee.

Sounds like the best plan to me. Look at Copart and other insurance auctions. You might find something you can use at a good price.

Best bang for the buck will be to find a race car already built. Beautifully built cars sell for a fraction of what they cost to build.

My buddy picked up a bad ass race car for less then a new Hellcat. It easily ran low 8s at Moparty and looked like a street car at first glance. Had full dash etc.

Going low 8's or 7s very possible building a car in the low 3,000 lbs range with a Hellcat power train. I've been low 9s at 4700 lbs, take off 1500 lbs and it would fly. I have been watching for old mopars on facebook and there has been a lot of stuff for under 20k. My thought is 1st figure out what you are looking for. Don't just buy something that will work but something you would really like to have. I have seen cars that need everything to nice cars to drive to the this used to be a racecar and the work has already began.

Fast. Probably 8.5 index, throw some nitrous and play with the heavyweights when I get tired of Andy from ECMP or @HighHorseman beating my ass. 😂

There was a time when 8.50 was my goal.

I may let go of my 2010 Body in White that is still on the dolly from dodge. It is the shell, doors, trunk, fenders and hood. There is no foam, seam sealer or extra crash bars from the factory and no vin. Still undecided what I am going to do with it as I just gutted a chrysler 300 to build the new race car out of. I’m not doing any more car stuff until I have a lift and a pole building period. Going to race what I have, might bump boost up a bit more. But space is on the list

we were already underneath the car tonight on the lift, super clean.

Car had a 5.7 in it, someone already bought the old motor, using that money for the first mod, full aad suspension front and rear… this car already is treating me better than the Hellcat 😂

For building a race car starting off with one that is really heavy. Looks like HHP spent a lot of money getting their challenger down to 3400 lbs
