Anyone know how the stock spoiler, the optional "Performance Spoiler", and any aftermarket spoilers actually affect high speed drag? I hope to get my Challenger to 200 and of course every little bit helps. The difficulty is filtering through the BS.

Anyone with info or links to credible info directly applicable to Challengers would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

If you look at the top NHRA Factory Showdown Dragpaks… In the past they were just removing the factory spoiler. I recently saw where the HemiTuner DragPak had a smaller flat piece replacing the new “Performance” spoiler. Probably just covering the holes in the deck lid. They’re not allowed to put an actual drag wing for aero on there. The guys at this level have access to wind tunnel testing and if the factory piece wasn’t creating drag, they wouldn’t be replacing it.

A lay down (drag) wing is a option. They are designed to reduce the drag creating turbulence behind the car. Mine covers the attachment points for the stock spoiler. If I removed it and put the stock piece back on, the additional holes in the deck lid would be covered and you would not be able to tell it was done. 5C2AB62A-5982-4E72-8140-2047E21B9264.jpeg 24BAEE7B-79F4-4E9B-9C98-EBDB471174FF.jpeg

I thought the general rule was anything over 150 mph could benifit from a PROPER drag wing otherwise it just slows one down.

I honestly cant see the stock spoiler doing anything but slowing someone down its just for looks. But does look better with it imo so id at least opt for the lay down wing. Id say at 200 mph it would definately be of help!

I don’t have pictures of the bare deck lid but I still have the 2016 speed bump spoiler. There are three metal pins. One in the center that serves as a guide pin and one on each end that are threaded and bolt down from the underside of the deck lid. There are four push pins that are attached to the spoiler and a large circular opening that is for the backup camera wiring. The deck lid matches with holes for each of those. Seven small holes and one big one. The thing is held down in the center with the mother of all sticky tape. You will need a fine wire or fishing line to detach it from that. You will not just pull it off. C67322F4-E6B8-41AB-9E1D-C3CC5FB18DF5.jpeg B2304A3A-DDC4-4F1F-886C-A734657B9952.jpeg

Not exactly sure what you are suggesting. Do you/SRT recommend staying with the standard spoiler? Or no spoiler?

Thank you. Someone upgraded my spoiler to the redeye one before I bought the car. I assume it’s attached the same.

The earlier Drag Packs had no spoiler if I remember correctly.

I saw the early DragPak that was driven by Leah at SEMA back then. It was a rat. The deck lid had pieces of tape over the holes where the spoiler was removed.

The one I saw was the blue and red one with the Hellcat graphic. Pretty ugly I thought. It was thrashed looking. Holes in the vinyl seat cover. Lol. I think it was the first one to run a 7.
