One more thing as far as rear tires and ride quality I have a very similar set up out back for tires. 2 years ago I went with custom rear 17” wheels with MT 315/50R17 ET Street R. Yes I chew through them, yes I mind my P’s and Q’s when driving at low temps and potential in coming rain storms. But ride quality isn’t bad. I think a Red Eye with this tire wheel combo would be at least similar to a 170. Of course the suspension tune would be slightly different for achieving optimized weight transfer on dig-launch in a 170 but I would say at least close.
Speed rating on tires, yes mine has seen far more than 149 for very short bursts. Certainly not long sustained runs. Common sense prevails. As far as 149 speed governed, I know it to be true with a caveat, that being a 149 speed cap plus a timer embedded in logic allowing for additional speed for a given time once 149 has been achieved, intentionally engineered for a greater top speed run in track mode for a quarter mile run. Certainly not advised for a high way high speed sustained runs. Anyone contemplating a 170 purchase should factor this in and decide if it is show stopper. If so don’t purchase. For me no prob I would purchase, just not with a FAT ADM.
