Hello all. I am looking at 2023 redeyes. Would be a first time owner. And browsing around internet trying to get as much info as i can. I have been hearing quite a bit of complaints from owners. Of poor QC issues with their 23's. Compared to other years. Not just with redeyes either. I mentioned redeyes. Since that's what i am looking at. Alot of blame on Stellantis for laying off people. I am a newbie here. I am aware that differential and fuel pump issues seem to be quite common. Again, being a newbie. Just wondering if there's some truth to this about the 23's. You people here. Know alot more than i do. Thanks!

There have been a bunch of quality control and defective parts issues with the 2023s across the board, not just Redeyes. Lots of dual fuel pump failures and driveshaft center bushing failures. If you are hunting for a Redeye I would aim for a 2022 or earlier. It also avoids the insanity of dealer markups if you can find any still at a dealer.

I ordered a '22 early when you still could get substantial discounts, I knew 2023 would be a crapfest. I would not buy one now. Nor would I sell mine.

I ordered a 2023 PCP/Red interior Redeye and turned it down once it was built. I connected the dealer with a new buyer. The dealer offered free shipping and delivered it to him. They had to roll it off the delivery truck because the dual fuel pump had stopped working. It took a week to get a new one installed under warranty. I know of at least two other 2023 Redeyes that had their fuel pumps fail in the first hundred miles or so.

So Dodge redesgned the fuel pump for the 2023? I would think they would be using the same pump they used the previous few years and what chages were made to the Diff?

No, they didn't change/redesign the pumps for 2023. It's just that the parts supplied by the outside venders for the final year of production have an inordinately high failure rate. = "Bottom of the barrel" parts that would have previously been rejected in QC, were put on cars going down the line. The vendors knew it was the end of the line for those parts contracts so they didn't seem to care much about the quality of what they supplied.

I'm not buying its the vendors fault. Stellantis forced the lower quality parts because they cut the price they would pay for parts.

Stellantis ended up suing some parts suppliers. It looks like they aren't winning these lawsuits.

And you wonder why the quality is in the toilet.

I was reading as redeye pumps in general which I had not heard. Seeing you are saying 23 only then different story.

From what i gather. Bad fuel pumps happen more than they should. Regardless of the year. The 2023's seem to be a QC mess. That's a shame. Be interesting to know. How many 2023 owners have problems.

I have had good luck with the Challenger so far, but it seems all my other vehicles need either new fuel pumps and/or fuel level sensors every few years. Not expensive parts, but a real PITA to replace! :mad:

Some YouTuber was wrong? I'm shocked! It's the big one, Elizabeth, I'm coming to join you! Full disclosure I only watched the first four seconds of that video because that's all I could take. I thought The Geneva Convention protected us from things like that.

Do you run the gas low all the time. Thats the only thing I could think of for your bad luck with fuel pumps. If you run your tank low all the time your pumps will run hotter because there’s not enough gas to keep them cool.
