How long before they figure out you still need some styling selling cars no matter how it is powered. I think of the new charger coming and if they would have stayed with the same door lines like the current one how much better it would look then flat sides
I thought the same about the new Charger…very plain compared with the current wide and narrow body Chargers. The sides and rear look aweful.

He’s not wrong. On the perfect day on the perfect track with the perfect sunrise and a rainbow, the Demon 170 is faster.

I didn’t post the video to say one is better than the other. I just thought it was a fun video. I’ve never experienced a 0-60 time in under 3 seconds, and someday I’d like to. It doesn’t mean I want to own an EV, but I wouldn’t mind a few runs in one.

Tom Bailey was driving the 170, no slouch and owns a 170 himself but I think he's used to all the aids a custom built race car provides.

Also, if this was filmed in the past couple weeks, DA would have been 3000+ I think.
Filmed at Willow springs on April 22 (backup day on the 23rd) and Famoso on April 24.

Honestly, I don’t want an EV or a Demon 170. What I wanted was a TRX Redeye when it came time to replace my truck, and Ram gave us the RHO (Remove Hellcat Option) instead. Apparently a factory backed warranty 800hp truck on 35’s was asking too much…

I was close to pulling the trigger on a D170. So glad I did not.

Dealer wanted 100k over.
I called. It was an auction.
Declined.

Quit the 170 game.
I am watching the market unfold as I thought it would including the wailing and crying that it will be a 200-300k car in a year or so. I don't see the 170 ever being worth that unless another global event takes place that dumps a shit load of cash on the American public.

Well, that's not good then since the DA wasn't bad on April 24. That car is slow for some reason even in MPH.

There's a guy on the other forum selling a delivery miles 170 with CF wheels for $140K with an extended warranty right now. It's been for sale for a few days and I think he's gonna put it on BAT since no one on the forum wanted it.

I personally hate the "collector car" hype around the 170. I think it's really stupid from an investment perspective but everyone thinks they have a 1:1 1970 Cuda in the garage lol. Even the delivery miles 2018 Demons people are selling they've all lost money on even if they paid MSRP by the time you account for inflation, insurance, storage, and maintenance. Some Mopar people can be special though.

  1. They didn't use a one seater Demon 170. They used a 2 seater, no carbon wheels, and with the passenger seat still installed which is heavier
  2. The car was driven in auto mode WITHOUT the chiller activated at certain times
  3. Car was ran with a full tank of gas AND DIDN'T UNLOCK the full 1025hp in certain clips
  4. NOT ONE clip ever show the Demon 170 raced in either Drag or Custom mode

If Dodge really cared, they would have had a 170 primed and ready to go.

The 170/Challenger era has passed. Any dealer still holding onto them is their own damn fault at this point.

I don't discriminate, I like them all; EVs and ICE vehicles. Lucid is bleeding money and that was a major factor why I didn't buy an Air. The Demon170 is a lot of fun to drive (so is the 18 Demon). Ron's 170 is not stock, it may have the stock tune but there is some serious weight reduction in his 170 (probably over 100 pounds of sprung and 30 pounds of unsprung
