On my iPhone, the speaker icon is almost completely obscured by a menu bar at the top. It’s a trick to press it without being taken to the menu item. Then again, I don’t have a Facebook account.

So, if I’m understanding this, they’re using an ICE 3.6 Pentastar to generate electricity to charge the batteries and power the electric motors. I’m no engineer, but every thing I learned along the way says there has to be an overall loss of efficiency.

How do u figure that? Sounds dope AF to me. 500 mile range EV truck? Where do I sign up? What exactly is useless about a Ram 1500 with a 500 mile range im confused.
I think the concept is awesome dont care how fast it is what do u expect a truck to actually do other than haul shit to the dump and tow?
The concept of gas recharging electric sounds revolutionary to me......
I agree that this is the only "EV" I would even consider using, but my question is this. Do they really need to use a 3.6l gas engine to power the generator? Couldn't they use a much smaller engine and be more efficient? Why no way to connect engine to drivetrain in emergencies?

My basic understanding is
The larger V6 was required to achieve their goals
A smaller battery can be used
When the truck is towing or hauling the battery & the V6 are used in tandem
I believe the HP & Torque are both over 600
Rumor is
This platform style will see 2 more vehicles

That is all correct, but I did not hear about the efficiency problem. I would think a smaller battery would make that worse.
The ICE engine is only connected to the generator and can in no way be physically connected to the drivetrain (I think this is a lost safety feature/opportunity)
Maybe have a solenoid that can connect the ICE to the drivetrain with some limits so it can't just be driven on fuel, limits such as 50-100 miles or 45 MPH limits? For safety reasons
