I mean, why choose? A couple little whistle-stuffers somewhere on the car feeding into the blower snout. No kill like overkill. Oh, boy, the intercoolers etc... Why am I even thinking of this?
Is too much just not enough?

I like this subject. My mind is so twisted around correction paint and film,,, let's talk pro for mance. Good choice of subject matter. What could you do with a super charger and a turbo at the same time or could you??? I have no idear. Sum body learn us?? Could ya, wood ya, can ya?? I have had both but not, snot, at the same time. On the same car. Wood it work.

I have been attempting to answer this persons request with no advancement with the computer controls. All I get is control advancements. But can you inter face, like having 2 wives, 2 high performance

Boost is boost, doesn't matter too much how you get it, especially if efficiency isn't your concern.

Tuning and control is the trick!

Bull ish. Not yet. Computer problems on this ends. Starting to clear up. I get 2 posts then get 12. Absolutely not enough to drink. Problem. It is jumping from 1 site to another. Not attempting to confuse any one but myself. Good subject matter. I wood like to know more if it wood work/? I guess,, got a name and contact info to find out. I will like to combine 2 systems into 1 see if it works.

Compound boost setup would be sick. The terminator crowd was into this on a quite a few setups. They were insane. The torque was beyond stupid.
Love the idea. Please proceed and post all your data.

I guess there is a time and a place for compounds but I’ve always preferred an appropriate turbo setup over a mix of the 2. Get a custom intake that keeps the intercoolers and slap some twins in the bumper.

I have seen these setups before but have never played with them or even studied them. The thing's I can't seem to wrap my mind around:

1) If you force feed a PD blower, no matter how much you push on the intake opening, it is PD isn't it? So it can only pass a certain amount of air at a certain RPM. Now I understand the air is pressurized coming in also, but that much more?
2)At some point wouldn't one or the other systems become an obstruction or restriction to the other? (more likely the PD blower getting in the way of the turbo's at full scream pumping air)
3)Isn't the air coming in now SUPER HOT which would cause meltdown.

OBVIOUSLY it works. LOL. I'm just stating the things I'm having a problem seeing or getting by.

The supercharger is a compressor. Air exiting it is under higher pressure than air entering it. Ford used such a setup successfully on the RS100 rally car. The supercharger gave the engine artificial size at low RPM, and the turbo was providing the boost at hitgher RPM. After a certain boost level, the supercharger WAS bypassed by the turbocharger, you are so correct about that.

With a large enough intercooler, the air will be close to ambient temperature when it enters the IHI blower, after which it will be cooled by the twin aftercoolers in the blower manifold.

When done with sophistication, the effect is that of just having more (in the case of this engine, monstrous) cubic inches. Even a properly set up ("setup" is a noun, "set up" is a compound verb) turbocharger system alone has this effect.

Would it not be fascinating to see a system where the boost kicks off an A/C pulley-style control that just cuts out the blower?

Actually, the effective compressor that is the screw blower on the Hellcat would better be replaced by an old-fashioned top-down Roots blower if this were the angle of attack one was going to use.

I'm just mentally tinkering with this. These cars don't need more power, but life isn't about NEEDS, is it? It's about WANTS.
By the time you put the blower, the intercoolers, the turbo's piping, and the by-pass piping together where do you put the engine?? . LOL. That's TIGHT under there! Good luck changing something.
If the "Rally" cars are what I think your talking about, those little rally tanks are quite impressive. I used to watch the rally's through the mountains in Europe when it was on the speed channel. That was pretty exciting racing. Rooster tails coming off 4 wheels on dirt roads in a 500HP car the size of a go cart going god knows how fast while the navigator 's just yelling "Left! Left! then Right! Right!", driver just turns the wheel and hope's the turns there! And oh yea , people just standing a foot off the unprotected roadside ?!. Never took off over here.

Timely thread...I saw a picture of a Charger with what looked like a turbo and supercharger. Been sick so forgot to post picture. Never saw that before.

Unless I'm missing something that looks like a BIG ASS turbo going into a sheet metal intake. Unless they put the blower on top and its out the hood by a mile. That is insanely big and serious looking. Where did you catch that?
