I’m curious to know how these wheels do in wet weather and I prefer someone who actually has them on the car and has driven in wet weather to let me know how they did

Had them on my 16 Hellcat Challenger.
Live in South Mississippi (about 6 feet of rain annually).
I would pull them off when we would get multiple rain days, or drive my truck.
You can drive with them on, but it can get really hairy, really fast. And that is not playing around; just normal driving.
That's my personal experience with them.

I live in the desert, but have driven about year round on drag radials for about 6 years now...and while I get to enjoy driving on dry roads 90% of the time...I have driven in rain, slushy snow up to an inch, temperatures well below freezing, all conditions I have heard people say OMG you will die, car is impossible to control even in normal driving - and I honestly do not know what the hell those people are talking about. Just this past winter I drove my Redeye in the rain many times at ~40 degrees and snow twice and it was just fine. You do have to baby it around, drive like your grandma who hates fast cars is in the passenger seat. But there is absolutely noting dangerous about it, I have the traction control in sport and track too all the time, if it ever seems really slippery I will turn it full on, but seriously, I would like to know what the people who say it is dangerous are trying to do with their cars in the rain. I grew up in Minnesota but haven't lived there for 20 years, but maybe it's because I learned to drive up there that I feel comfortable driving in compromised road conditions...

I will say daily driving on drag radials is the greatest thing you can do for these cars. No point in adding one performance modification to these if you are on street tires IMO. My car feels clumsy on street tires - on the rear that is of course.

I run the firestone Indy 500 on the street right now and they are phenomenal in rain but I’m considering the weld s79 because I came across a deal on the front wheels and I want rear to match just for the street but firestone doesn’t carry the size I’m looking for in a 17 but I may look into an 18 rear I have a set of 18 front weld s79 051303C1-96D4-43E5-896E-CCBCD94A58A1.jpeg

Well I normal on the street I n rain but a little more spirited in dry weather, I have set of Mickeys etr that would look awesome but they are drag radials and I’d hate to have to only drive in dry weather I’ve tried nitto 555r on the street and in the rain they suck

Oh, I agree.
I love driving with DRs.
FYI: I thought nittos were better in rain than MTs.
But I live where there is an average of 69 to 72 inches of rain a year. Am I cautious when driving in the rain? Yes.
With Drs on?
Oh hell yes!
BIG difference.

I had the M/T SS 305 / 35 / 20's on the car for street & strip for a while & I think their pretty good , I never got caught in heavy rain , just light rain & like already mentioned you have to slow down & take it easy with any tire on the back.

@Mean Cat you have a garage queen brother ,your input is not allowed lol ,I have 22,000 miles and I can tell you the firestone indy 500 are better the the stock tires im kinda kicking myself for even getting these wheels because I hate spending money on anything that doesn't either help with traction or power but the deal was off the charts

yeah I agree, the 555Rs are just barely better than the Atturo AZ850 which is a killer cheap street tire, for like $100 per tire you can drive with almost no regard for tires and do burnouts for your friends all the time :)

I have had 4 sets of Mickeys ET Street S/S and 2 sets of Nitto 555Rs and I think the Mickeys are so much better, not much of a comparison really IMO. I only got the 2nd set of Nittos because I picked them up super cheap...

David if you didn't like the 555r's in the rain the ET street SS is not going to be better measurably if at all. Anybody I have spoken to says they are worse. I have driven with well worn 555r's in the rain and found it drove as expected pretty much. Basically like crap but manageable.

Am I the only one who has had it start snowing lightly while driving home on worn out ET street R's? 🥺😆

I don't want to be misleading.
To clarify.
I have had it snow on the way to the track.
I have had to wait for it to stop snowing while at the track.
I have had it start snowing on the way home from the track.
The time I know it snowed on a pass was when I had my p-zero summers on. It is possible that has happened with the drag radials but I don't know for sure. LOL
I guess it isn't a big surprise as I at times head to the track in 25f ish degree temps in hope that the track will be open and will be driveable.
After 5 months of hibernation I would be willing to try rain again.🤣🤣
