From my own experiences, I believe it is necessary. I wish this came out sooner. What people don't realize is no one checks thoroughly until something is actually broken. It's not something that you'd notice from a cursory visual inspection, the bolts being bent. It's not until you actually remove them that you'll notice they aren't straight anymore in cars cutting low 1.20's or 1.1x 60's and racing a lot. Eventually, the bolt will snap from fatigue. I only know because I had a bolt snap on a test drive on the street. This was after 5+ years of track abuse. Now it's part of my post race inspection to check them and replace if needed.
