I think Dodge needs and will one up the Hellcat with the Hurricane engine.
Not sure how, but I think they come to the table with a 10 second car to replace the outgoing Challenger.

Otherwise, where are the camo cars at? We should have seen something by now.

Unless it really is the Charger, Hornet, Durango and whatever its replacement will be. Thats going to be the suck.

I believe either with hybrid or Direct Connection etc, that Dodge will drop a Challenger capable of 10.50s and use the I6 while doing it.
They did order a bunch of transmissions for the hybrid setup a few years ago. Wondering if they were ever built?

You have the V6 twin turbo or the one with the added hybrid. The hybrid is for performance, not fuel economy. So far only about 15 mpg with ours. Haven't stepped all the way onto yet.
That's rough, I think ford engineered the powerboost for fuel economy, we are getting about 22-24 mpg combined on the f150 platinum powerboosts. Only 420hp but 570lb ft torque, it accelerates decently (still feels slow) but I'm a little jaded because even the explorer ST is a rocket after getting it tuned by jon. (0-60 in 4.1)

Honestly if I wanted a fast truck I would choose a trx or a raptor R, I got over the fast truck shtick after having a trx, would much prefer the truck to be able to be used as a truck not a wannabe racecar.

But if you are buying the tundra is probably the best truck in terms of reliability, Toyota is hands down one of the most reliable manufacturers in the game.

I don't understand the whole hybrid, green push when eliminating the V8 is not resulting in any better fuel economy! When will we be able to get our V8s back? How long before this whole green charade falls apart? If I have to lose my V8s for the same MPG I better damn well get a faster, more capable vehicle!
The twin turbo and hybid cars get better mpg when you treat em like an old lady which is exactly how these cars are driven for epa testing.

In reality i6 twin turbos and hybrid systems will spank stock v8s for two reasons, lighter platform = better power to weight and the addition of awd = power able to be put down.

My dream for dodge would be a twin turbo charger i6 that does 0-60 in a 2.8-3.2s range and quarter mile in 10.5-10.8, which is what the M and Amg cars offer with awd.

In all likelihood these v8s are done, I won't say they won't come back at all because it's possible albeit with a lot of r&d, the issue besides fuel economy is the emissions and these are basically old school level bad type of emissions, dodge is fighting a battle on two fronts that they cannot win, fuel economy and emissions.

Only way to win is to completely restructure the v8 which would cost crazy amounts of money in r&d or better to jump ahead and do an i6 system and set up a platform down the way.

Either way you strike it these 2023s especially the hellcat is gonna go down as legendary simply because they won't be able to replicate this type of car again, it's basically a 70s muscle car with semi-modern technology

I think the capstone is supposed to give you 19/22, should get better imo. Toyota is pretty accurate on their fuel economy #s

Same mpg with this one. Capstone is covered in chrome. Would of never bought it. I always end up with the middle trim package.

Milf pizza delivery is very lucrative.

All done in phases, first the naturally aspirated engines started disappearing then the supercharged engines are next, soon after them the turbos will disappear, eventually hybrids will disappear and electric will be what's left until it gets replaced. I think people forget that the oil/gas industry torpedoed electric/steam cars in the 1900s and set them back so far they are just now coming back.

The i6 in the lx platform should allow room for AWD… that would make the Hurricane relevant towards end of life for the car - or the next gen that won’t be too different.

Yeah exactly, it's why I like the platinum over the lariat and king ranch, I prefer painted bumpers, the mirror caps are chrome and the door handles are too which is palatable but the limited with no chrome has 22s which are horrible on a worksite and the stupid lettering in the front.

Supposed to get them 22 or 23
Then covid hit.
Added upward of 150ft-lbs of torque to the engine output
On the GW, that would be 650ft-lbs of torque in a hybrid Challenger

The HO Hurricane also has bigger/different turbos than the base. I think Dodge can easily manipulate another 50-60-75hp out of that engine or more.
If the aftermarket crack it, i would think a tune alone would be close to 100hp gain
