Maybe I'm missing something. A Demon bought in 2018 at MSRP is worth the same money today? In a few cases barely but lost money after incurred expenses and those are ones that were never driven and enjoyed.
OMG, you are still on the investment perspective, again, they are not investments. Anything that moves costs money to maintain, insure, etc. regardless of whether it is an economy car, EV, Bentley, etc. Boats, cars, planes, helicopters are all money pits, just varying in degree.

Some of the 18 Demons had a MSRP at 85K, mine was fully loaded (minus the sunroof) at 96K. As I recall the one seat cars with no options were 84 or 85K. What did yours cost? They seem to be currently selling on the low end in the 80's to over 140K. Money makers, highly unlikely.

Not really when you do the math. Cumulative inflation alone is 25% since 2018 so that $100k would be about $125k today.

Now add insurance, maintenence, and storage and you've lost quite a bit of money. You'd need to sell a 2018 Demon for $130k plus just to break even and personally I'm pissed if my investments are flat over 6 years.
I guess you could say I collect "stuff"....but I rarely (if ever) sell my stuff...not obsessed with collecting...never viewed my "stuff" as an investment..always found those obsessed with collecting money a peculiar lot....after all money is only conveyance to get what you want...and it's never worth anything till you spend it...so drive your cars...spend your money...or when your gone,,,the guy sleeping with your wife...will thank you..;)

This is a hobby. The nice thing for anyone that has a Demon or 170 and didn't pay way over msrp they probably won't lose any money on the car that hopefully they have enjoyed and not let it sit in a garage when they do sell it

I think now and in near future anyone that paid 200k for a 170 or the sort will lose money when they sell it. People looking for an investment with these cars needs to look elsewhere. All they are doing is pushing the price up on a car others would like to enjoy and may never be able to get one now

Average price for a low mile 2018 around here

Once they get over 5000 kms the prices fall pretty quick

Wonder what the fees are there ? I keep an eye on BAT just to kinda have a sense of what's going on and for the most part the selling prices have dropped by a LOT since the hay days. Sunroof seems to hurt sales on the 170s.

2018 Demons are going for an average "around" $115-120K depending on miles etc. Considering MSRP +TTL I stand by my statement that cars are terrible investments.

Put $100K in the stock market back in 2018 and you'd have doubled your money today without the upkeep, insurance, storage, etc.
Man I need a better broker

The low mileage stuff is selling at a good price
There is not a lot of options here so the prices are still pretty good ( supply & demand )
The higher mileage stuff at these prices is not selling
Some of the 2018 s are listed as low as 110 - 120k with lots of mileage
I think people are afraid of the cars with more mileage thinking they have been beaten to death which is likely the case

Lots of these cars also went to the US with the exchange rate at 1.35 ish leaving us with even less to pick from

I was offered 75K for my low mile 2016 Cat on a trade in
They had a buyer lined up

I m not ready to do that LOL

The reality is a 2018 Demon is just a glorified Redeye. The 170 is a completely different car literally and unless they come out with something ICE powered to trump it the 170 will be the only one holding its value. Going mid to low 10's is nothing special these days and thats what the 2018 Demon does for 99% of those racing them.

Yea, ull own a 2018 Demon for years and someone will ask in 20 years if thats the 170 or not. Its not like a GNX where that was built one year and one year only. They copied the 2018 Demon and made it way better!

These are the realistic prices 2018 Demons are getting..... $110,000.00 If u were one of the lucky ones who paid MSRP then id sell now before they are worth $80k.

Guess if you were concerned with what it would be worth one day...selling now might make sense...I'm not sellin either of em...even if I knew prices were gonna tank...I want the cars...not the money..but that's just me...when I was 16 I could never afford a Challenger..(but would kill for one)...now it's about the cars...not the money;)

Speedy, I was incorrect, the sticker on my 18 Demon was 92K (that is what I paid) and the base model was 84K which includes destination charge. The crate was $1. In hindsight, it was a crackhead good deal, imo. WindowStickerPDF.jpg

@cole3986 I don't know what your point is. This thread is about cost/value of these cars. The 2018 Demon I was involved with had a $90K sticker and only brought $106K at auction in April of 2018 when they were the hottest thing since sliced bread. To top that the proceeds went to Racing4Vets a wounded vet charity so it was even a write off. It was a big flop.

So you paid $92K plus TTL plus insurance, plus maintenance for the past 6 years and there's about a 25% inflation rate from 2018 to 2024. Are you saying your Demon hasn't lost any value?

@Bowtie Guy asking price and selling price are two different things. A search on BAT will show what they're selling for and it's dropped a lot the past year or so.

Speedy, my point is to just clarify that I misspoke regarding the MSRP of my demon. Wow, you seem to be a little twisted on this subject, just sayin.

Nah, I do enjoy a good debate though :) People act like I'm crazy for driving my 170 and I just laugh, I mean IT'S A CAR. No one wants to hear the facts around the value of these cars and will convince themselves of anything. The enjoyment I get driving mine is worth every dime of depreciation.

Canadian money correct?

Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk
Correct
Which would be roughly 130 US

Last time I looked 1.00 US = 1.35 Canadian
