Sigh, I'd hoped to be hitting the track for some rare good DA around here on Saturday in Bowling Green, KY. Well, local track was flooded with 7 inches of rain on Sunday It's currently under about 6 feet of water.
No they are not. But even the Hoosier 325/45R18 DOT Drag Radials are "for racing only". The DBR will hook better because it is a much newer compound/construction. I will be using that setup to drive on locally, back and forth to Irwindale. If I literally need to drive a long ways I will throw 2 OEM wheels/tires on the rear. Or, throw the car in the trailer.

Thanks Ron.
I am about to order a pair of tires as my last pair will be going on shortly. I will give the DVR a try as I use them mainly for the track.
$200 savings doesn't hurt as long as they perform at least as good on the track.
Those look really really good! When I get a little spare $$$ I'm going to try to get a pair of 18-inch Demons or some reproductions in place of my 18-inch Bravados.
You must be dying to get back in the driver's seat!!!
Ooo!!! That’s what I need! I love the M/T Sportsman’s but damn they’re heavy and I think all that tread is more likely to carry water out of the box and stay in the tire. I hope they come in a 18.
Quick question Ron:
The 305/45-18 MT ETStreetR is the best DOT tire choice for light street use and will still work well at the track?
It seems that MT doesn't offer anything any bigger?

For a Wide Body I would run the 315/50R17 in a heartbeat. Not sure why you want to run that 18" tire unless you already have rims. Yes the Micky Thompson ET STREET R is the best choice for true streetability within limitations.

I already have the 315's for one car but am putting together another set for the other car. I've picked up a set of 18x11 Forgestar beadlocks for a reasonable price. Once powdercoated to match they'll go well with the 18x5 Forgestars I already have.
Just looking for the biggest tire I can find since room isn't an issue for me.

You are good to go then. I ran the 305/45R18 ET STREET R on the Demon when I first got it and also on the Super Stock when I first got it. Zero issues with hooking.
