I’ll say this (again). A properly designed and fitted 8.5 cert cage is very streetable. Safety considerations are…. You need a harness that is tight enough while driving that you can’t hit your head on the bar that runs overhead at the door. The side curtain airbag isn’t going to function so you have sacrificed that level of safety. But…. older cars (consider you’re cruising in your ‘69 Hemi Roadrunner) don’t have have that either. It’s a matter of personal choice. To say it’s too dangerous to drive on the street means that all of your classic cars are too. Better not get in one of those. Here’s a picture of mine back in the day with the removable door bars out This cage was NHRA Certed for 8.5 seconds

It was crazy watching all of the cars with funny car cages cruising during Sick Week. Many you couldn't even see the driver they were behind the B pillar.
Driver side is easy the passenger side was a real bitch. It took me a day to get my shorties back on when I decided to put them on after I put the heads on.
You done yet?

A track I know of just posted they are opening on April 8-9. So depending on temps two or three weeks after that would be a good time to be ready for.😉

@jonx96 ... You can get the enhanced Mich license that is a mini passport for going to Canada, no real Passport required. I think it was like an extra $40-50 more than regular DL.

I agree a full passport is the best, but the enhanced mini passport license is good for Canada, Mexico, and most of the nearby Caribbean islands, which the majority of folks seem to go to more than Europe.
