I really do not think most people realize the cost of going fast. I’ve had numerous conversations with Fuman about different ideas. What has happens sucks. But this stuff happens trying to go 8.5. Hatermaker and I have had numerous conversations with people. The difference between a 9.0 and a consistent 8.5 car is 30 - 40 grand. It is usually made to look easy but it is not cheap. Most people also do not post about the broke parts along the way.
I think Fuman almost had a heart attack the other day when talking about doing a 426. The short block wasn’t to expensive but when we started just talking about some of the parts in my top end it gets crazy. I will say I went overkill with my top end but still… this is not a cheap sport. I actually have a spare long block that I just need to get pistons for. Because when the day comes when I decide to start turning it up I do not want any downtime. I also acquire parts over time and sometimes used if it makes sense. This is not a cheap sport.
