If you are say the general public (not a Mopar enthusiast or fan) you would not go with the automaker that is really known for ICE performance and one that has obviously struggled with the EV change (the Charger has basically been slid what, 2 years (?)). Would you buy from a company that from many perspectives is teetering on the edge of going out of business?
I do hope they stay in business, because I am long time Mopar fan and I am rooting for Kuniskis and Co to turn things around, but I wouldn't seriously consider a Mopar EV. if I was looking at buying an EV I would go with a company that has a proven record of success in building an EV. (I don't even know who that company is - Tesla maybe???)

Dodge is now an adopted bastard child of non-relatives, they are non-U.S. guardians who are authoritarians with a superiority complex. They HATE the child's parents (Mopar or any U.S. corp) and the greatness and reputation they achieved while kicking the EU's ass for decades. This is their tiny chance at revenge, even if it hurts them financially, which is a classic liberal trait.

I'll never forget a quote by a Ferengi first officer in a Star Trek Next Generation episode:

"There is no profit in revenge."

If there is no profit, it is because the company is not serving the market (its customers). In the U.S. a company has (should have!!!!) the freedom to not serve its market and is free to fail.

In contrast: Look at all Big Tech donating to the Don's inauguration!!!! (AKA: Kissing his ring!!!) :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: THEY know how to NOT fail!!!!

The testla plaid is definitely quick but has no aesthetics at all I still want a car that looks great inside and out ,but I’m not buying an ev either way ( I think I’d wait a few years to see how they hold up and how many issues pop up in the first models

The world is already giving up on the EVs so you better buy one while they're available.

Steal-antics has sent me 2 emails offering $2k off if I go to a dealer & sign-up for one (to be delivered ????). They include a link to a list of what's going to be built & dealer allocations (like the Last Call Power Finder). The larger dealers seem to have fairly sizable allocations all unsold. Would love to see the #'s on what's actually been pre-sold.

Given the local dealers could/would not do the relatively minor repairs to my DDSRT & I ended up taking a buyback, I'm surprised they keep sending me stuff.
Even if I wanted one, I have to believe the local stealerships will be clueless on even the simplest repairs and parts will be scarce for the foreseeable future.

But that's the beauty of the otherwise generally ugly EVs, there's nothing to go wrong. Barely any moving parts at all.

Of course, that they can burn your house down is a different matter - and another one a dealer can't fix.

I'll be surprised if these are even around anymore this time next year. I'm predicting a complete sales flop like the Hornet.

I've said before these EVs are too much like a cell phone. You get the latest greatest today and it's outdated before you've finished paying it off 2 years down the road or whatever. People who bought in to an EV are all over online complaining about the huge depreciation. Not sure what they expected? It's a cell phone after all.

My two year old Android phone was $800 new, and it's worth about $200 now.

Should have bought an Apple phone better trade value
But I keep all my old phones because I have too much info on them and don’t believe them when they say they erase all the data

I buy the discards cheap and use them for 5 years or so. Just bought a iphone XR, looks like new, $178 from WM and returnable.

I was using used ones from eBay, $35 to $60, for years, but then the supply dried up and 3G largely went away.

Swallowed hard and paid a princely $200 for a Kyocera with 4G. Glad I did. This military grade phone has lasted me over two years now, where the RAZRs would only live for maybe three weeks or up to three months before I broke them.

A so-called smart phone wouldn't survive a typical day with me.

Yeah, it's not like we're giving up 150hp by buying a discard! :ROFLMAO:

If you bought the right vehicle to start with, giving up 150 hp isn't that big of a deal.

imagine, you're stopped at a light and these 2 characters next to yell out to you:

"that thing got a Hemi in it?"

Maybe their new slogan will be "Hey, this thing has Lithium in it!"

(But no fire extinguisher).

he is right - the Mopar EV is a total embarrassment in every respect to the Mopar legacy.
