Funny...I actually don't know what I make a week...my wife takes it all..SOP from the first wk. we were married...(she just tells me when to give myself a raise)
Honestly! Where did the union hurt you? So much hatred? I understand not agreeing with what the union is doing but poo pooing every union members for trying to make a better living just because, is plain old hatred.
It’s been explained multiple times in this thread that every union member isn’t making what you keep hearing in the news and what the companies are saying publicly!! Not everyone makes “$300,000” a year as some have said in interviews.
Most WITH required mandatory overtime are make in the 60-80k range if they’re lucky!!!!
Dare youz go! Da dick ship prez is da 1 to, oh reach 80, back a uniunon, bee an ass. Butt impeach Trump whum is all ready out of office. Trey again. Day will. Time fer a malted shake and shine time.
5.3% income tax? Sounds like state income tax. Middle class families pay way more than that to the Feds. We pay close to 50% when all taxes are combined.
Depends what state you live in! I moved from Ohio to the Great State of Florida. Now, no state earnings tax, no county tax, no city tax and tremendously lower property tax. This equates into a huge pay increase, as the taxes hurt, especially the Ohio state earnings tax. The county/state services are actually better in Florida. The question is, why the tremendously high taxes and nothing to show for all the extra tax money???
True, but on average, it’s been said that Americans work January through May just to pay their taxes. When all the taxes are added up, property, earnings income, sales, interest, cap gains, vehicle registration, etc. we pay more than ever. That doesn’t even take inflationary money printing which is the most insidious form of taxation.

Middle class families have many exemptions that lower their federal tax burden. The wealthy coughed it up in the 50's and 60's, tax avoidance was rampant. It interesting that many studies have shown that when revenue collected approaches 20% as a percentage of GDP, people start doing anything they can to hide their income.
They get the same write offs every other industry gets. But you also answered your own question. Why would the Feds make sure and incentivize the production and stable supply of a vital commodity that is used to make virtually everything? Pretty obvious, huh.
Pure capitalism doesn't need subsidies..and no its not just tax writeoffs....(1 Trillion (yes with a T) in 2022 globally...)
so if we don't want green subsidies (I agree) then guess what? We also don't want oil subsidies, especially for an industry that can clearly stand on its own (after 150 years).
How about NO subsidies?
Wild concept for a country that touts capitalism (selectively of course)...

There isn't any hatred. But it doesn't take more than two brain cells rubbing together to do manual labor and performing the same job function repeatedly. And to think these same individuals think their value is based on what they do and not what they know is rediculous at the least. When the unions protect the employees from getting fired because they suck is outrageous. Unions have outlived their usefulness. The unions were first created becaue of unsafe working conditions, then OSHA was created to protect the workers. What ever happened to natural selection to weed out those morons that didn't know better. Then the unions went on to demanding more pay and benefits and then they piss and moan when that company shuts down, It's the Unions greed that causes additional price inflation on the goods they produce. Unions claim their products are superior to non union shops, but that just isn't the case. If it says union made on the label, I won't buy it, just like I don't support the panhandlers on the corner either. Union workers are not much different than all those people on welfare that beleive it is owed to them.
CAW / Unifor is going after GM now
Should be interesting
Union leaders are saying they want at "least" what Ford gave
My neighbor said most of the senior guys were not happy with the Ford contract
Lots of people worried about the future with the EV shit
Lots of politics going on
Here is GM s EV plant 2 hours up the highway
So you know these guys are looking for increased top up in pay while on layoff
Why is CAMI shut down?
Less than a year after it opened, the re-tooled Cami electric vehicle plant in Ingersoll is facing its first lengthy shutdown. Workers will go on layoff in October until spring of next year due to a battery shortage.Sep 17, 2023
