I wonder if you could have went with a griptec pulley and not use the adjustable idler pulley? You are making way more power but I'm not seeing any slip with the 3.00 pulley on my Whipple
Haha. Wellll….. the 3.0 only made 14 lbs. so…. Fk that! Put the 2.75 Griptec on there and made 1105 whp. Then…. We decided to give that velocity stack a shot. +70whp! 🤯. 94 degrees and the DA is just over 5000ft. 14psi. Im guessing cam and engine build is causing the drop with high elevation. A 3.0 and a lower that is pretty low boost. Are you sure nothing is opening the BOV?

It went to 19 lbs with the pulley change. That’s still low but I think 1178 ain’t bad at 5000’. I don’t know how much that elevation affects the numbers. XX for each 1000 ft so safe to assume they would be higher with a lower DA. I know that running the big Radial Pros don’t help and we had to let them cool down between pulls to not wreak the tires. I’ve been told that the 400 will suck the numbers on a dyno. Lol. I’m surprised we’re making anything 😊

The dyno told you some things that were going on and what helped but the numbers are just like a trophy girl, they may look good but do they actually perform where it matters:unsure:

One of the things it told me is that air filter I got off Amazon looked good but didn’t breathe for shit…. or that velocity stack (were calling it the tornado) is magical 😂. 498B22D1-5DEF-486C-8E65-863AA8BBC81F.jpeg 77D186AB-411D-4CFF-A31D-DD51ECE30B0D.jpeg

Yeah, the worst thing you can do to a PD blower is put anything in front of the throttle body, lol.

I think that other filter was very restrictive. I have an afe and cannot use that velocity device. Mine is about 7 inches in diameter vs. 5 on the velocity stack.

Last night was a ball buster 😳. Made the 400 mile tow into Irwindale (just east of LA) in SoCal. It was hot (of coarse it was) 91 degrees. First off…. There is nothing familiar about this car anymore. The manual steering and brakes. The seat, the shifter, the line lock and transbrake 😵‍💫. First hit on the 1/8 mile… I decided to use the transbrake (what the he!!🤓). I had about 6” of traction before it struck the tires and went right to the centerline. All the way off to get it straightened out and at about 200 ft I rolled back in to get some data and see if it would shift like it’s supposed to. It did and pulled HARD! 129 mph…... Second pass…. Foot brake at a idle. Carried the wheels while hazing the tires. That was a first! Interesting feeling with a fair amount of driving once the wheels were down to keep it in line. But….. I stayed on it. Apparently I was fiddling around at the starting line after I got the green (unfamiliar car thing) and I rolled forward enough to start the timers about a half second before I left. That resulted in a 1.70 sixty and a 5.90 1/8 mile. This time the end of the track was coming way faster and I hit the chute and got on those little DragPak brakes hard. The bad news…. The bolt holding the chute lever to the cable had managed to fall out and the chute did not deploy. The good news….. those little brakes hauled it down in that short shutdown. I was shocked when I got it pulled over and got out to pick up the chute and it was still in the pack. The first thing I thought was… well that answers that question about those Strange Engineering brakes 🙂. Oh and…. the mph was 137. BE09A835-E289-4672-B6EB-27A3ED9CF71F.jpeg

Now the adjustments and track tuning start. We’re going to be using some select sensors that work with the Holley Dominator to make the power adjustments necessary to get it down the track. That and suspension tuning. Both of these are areas where we don’t have the necessary expertise to just do it. We’ll need to go outside and Adam says he knows some guys. 😂. First good example is the rear suspension. Pictures are worth 1k words. What do you see? C724E8F5-BB3D-4844-B8B3-64EF2BBDC0D3.jpeg 9940718A-98F9-4173-9225-189CA2DBED76.jpeg

Car looks like it is loading the right rear on the hit.

Good eye 🫣. What it’s actually doing is loading the left harder than the right. That is the anti-squat action where the 4-link is lifting the weight of the car and loading the tire. The separation you see over the left rear is missing on the right. That’s all suspension adjustment. We need to put the car on scales and start making loading adjustments to the track bar and probably some shock settings to correct that. What you see was making the car go right when the wheels were up. Not helpful 😒
