Ahhhh, gotcha. Decades ago when I first saw the formula hoods I thought "damn those scoops are too far forward". And now that I own one, I think it's the coolest part of the car. The Firebird is my daily driver. I commute to work in it. Meanwhile, all the Mopars are home in the garage sitting on carpet. Yes, I have issues. And I'm proud of it.

I love the nostrils...makes it look sinical.

The formula I like...the scoops belong there...Red Eye....cant get used to it...but what do I know...

LOL....sorry I just couldn't resist....when the redeye was released with the two scoop hood..(which I'm not a fan of)...to me it looked like your formula firebird...I've been pokin fun at it ever since...

When I first saw the dual snorkel hood the first thing I thought of was the resemblance to a stealth bomber. Maybe a stealth bomber engineer is now working with the FCA design team....

Didn't like the Rasin Bran (@BULL TM) hood at first, but obviously it has grown on me.

Those first images were enough to evoke something just short of rage. I don't think they did themselves any favors trying to "tease" the new design with obscured views. There are still combinations of colors and stripes that I don't care for.

But the overall transition from loathing to acceptance is something I'd like to understand the psychology of better.

There are currently three combinations I actually like.

Triple Nickle with Satin hood
Indigo Blue with Satin hood
Indigo Blue

Depending on what other news gets released, either of the first two, likely the second is what I'll order in the Spring.

You need to sit in a new one.
Externally they look great.
I actually think they look better with the stripes.
But, it took time for me to get used to the view of the hood from inside.
Almost not even noticeable.
