The wife drove the M6 once, refused to ever drive it again. It was new with a very grippy clutch and 3.70 diff, needed lots of finesse. She had been driving manuals since before I met her in the '80's.

Yeah, sometimes you just feel like having an extra beer or three, it is nice to have the alternate driver!!!

Don't remember what car she was looking at buying, but my girlfriend wanted the stick shift version.

You can have a manual when you learn to use one, I said. But I've been driving sticks all my life she responded. So my response was "Like I said, you can have one once you learn how to use it".

She still hasn't quite forgiven me for that one - but at least she no longer pushes the clutch in while at a light or something.

So I gotta replace both wheels on the driver side.

Shit part is each wheel is $2500.

and the worse part is the forging is slightly different. And I’m super worried they won’t look perfect match.

I spoke with Vossen directly. And I just don’t know how I feel about it.

here is a pic of my version and the new version forging.

If you see my version seems smoother around the edges and just a nice almost beveled profile on the angles. The newer wheel looks a little sharper on the corners and has the raised lip in the barrel. The lip in the barrel isn’t the end of the world, but the sharpness of the corners just seems like it doesn’t have the sleek smooth look of my old wheels.

stuck on this one

On the positive side, you can only see one side of the car at a time.

I can relate.

I bought a spare wheel for mine since the older ones I like are hard to come by. So far that "insurance" has worked.

When my wife was learning to drive, her dad would make her drive the VW to the Towne Club store with a case of the returnable glass bottles in the back seat. She had to shift without rattling the bottles.

Did it have one of those aftermarket gasoline heaters? My Karmann Ghia did. Instant heat on the coldest days.

I don't think so...engine heat with a rectangular port on the floor..down by your ancles...(both sides)
