I have the 345 30 20 corsas on the back. With a ton of stuff in my trunk to add weight i can get traction most of the time when punching it from 45. That is when the tires are nice and warm. They only have a 60 rating. They are mounted on 12 inch Stance SF07 rims.

Currently R888R on Atom. Not impressed. Next tire will be Pirelli Trofeo.

Not good on the Atom either? One experienced guy (who tests tires) believes they got too hot on my tanker and that caused my little problem in June. They are known to get slippery if hot. Just what you don't want to happen, huh?

So... both the HC and the Atom are funny animals when it comes to this part of the tire discussion.

The Atom is weird because it is soooo light... that it is VERY difficult to get heat into the tires. Even tho the R888R is a 100 TW, R-compound tire, it pretty much takes me driving in drift-mode to get heat into them....

The Hellcat is the exact opposite. It’s so heavy that with super-soft tires, it’s easy to overheat them and get them ‘greasy’ if you’re not careful. Depending upon the nature of the course you’re on, you could easily overheat them 5 minutes in to a 18 minute session.

What I do like about the tires is they are fairly predictable when up to temp... and the grip is good.... What I dont like is their unpredictable nature when outside of that range. When cool, they cut loose with very little warning.

Chose Michelin because I have had very good luck on multiple vehicles, even though I like Goodyear and BFGoodrich as well.

Personally I love Nitto and Michelin tires. Now that Michelin has the MPS4S in a 305/35/20 its awesome.

What's the "M"? That's a new prefix.

295 Continental Sport Contact 6 in the rear and and 275 Continental Extreme Contact Sport in the front. Both on 20x10 wheels. Continentals run wider than stock Pirellis even on stock 20x9.5 wheels. Can’t remember the wheel offset off the top of my head. I’ll have to find it.

For everyday driving (which in my case is going fast, accelerating hard to get past traffic, and not lifting any more than necessary in the twisties) I really like the Firestone Firehawk Indy 500.

They are probably far from the best, but the price is amazing.

Glad there is a thread on this. I have the stock tires on my car now and would agree with the majority they suck. I am going to widen my stock wheels to 10.5 and will chose between the Continentals and PS4's. The PS4's are probably a little better but for my use of the car and based on other feedback I've seen the Continentals are a decent tire. I'd go with 305/35/20. Will decide in the spring after winter.

IMO it's pretty easy to find a good tire for dry and hot conditions, a lot of good summer only treads out there that are pretty cheap!.

It's when you want to maximize wet handling that it starts to get expensive, and you usually end up at Michelin there, but since I hardly ever encounter those conditions it's tough to dig that deep for tires that wear so quickly in the hot and dry of the southwest...

If I needed/wanted wet traction, I'd look at the Continental DW. At least the first generation performed very well on a wet test track.

Based on that experience I had them on one small and quick sports car, and a VW Golf R. Not that either one was ever driven in rain.

You'd think they'd make a decent street tire but I have had a couple different sets on a couple different vehicles and they sucked...not excited about the fact that my new Challenger is going to come with a crap set of no season Perelli's

Yes, watched the F1 race in Japan this weekend. I think it was all Pirelli. The PZero's in the right width are not that bad. They make a couple of course tires (Trofeo, Corsa) that I may even try someday.

Super Swampers, Pro Tracs and Goodyear Redlines are my favorites. But for my Kitty, I like my Nitto G2's.
