Demon, maybe an advantage with that big ass scoop, I dunno on Hellcat or RE. I'd almost think it a restriction over the open head light and bottom of the fender, but these debates have been going on for at least 10 years. My old car picking up 30RWHP was enough to convince me, and yes we called them hot air intakes then too. 30rwhp isn't gonna mean much on the drag strip though, so I doubt you'd see anything testing it and way too many variables.
I didn't switch from the stock air box until I saw the engineers go to open element filters and even then only when there was a fire sale LOL. 30ish HP on a 700ish RWHP isn't noticeable at all but I think they look way better than the stock box. I had the LMI first and didn't care for it honestly but like the JLT.
