Even before this I'm starting to get the feeling this strike is for show and even Unifor caved in to only 15% pay increase with only 54% agreeing on the deal. Smells like some workers are getting screwed in a few weeks...

63% increase in average price, plus 7% interest equals a lot more for the payment.

Couple that with a generation used to being spoon fed by their parents and will pay $45 for uber eats to deliver a $7 milkshake and there ya go.

I agree with you, to a degree. The temp employees, making about half of the person next to them on the assembly line, is beyond terrible, equal pay/equal work. I believe everyone should get a raise yearly, especially now, due to the high inflation. Wages of 30 to 32 an hour are really good, with great benefits, but increasing wages 40% is steep and a 4 day workweek, will raise prices on new vehicles to the point, that will force customers to buy foreign or keep the old beater. This will hurt not only auto workers, but the many suppliers, possibly millions of people. If the auto makers do not make a good profit, stockholders sell, no reinvestment, no new plants in the USA and loss of jobs, going overseas. I have lost a good job, twice, due to closures, auto related. The union may win the battle, but lose the war...
