Great times man! That 3.0 sure put in work. Can't wait to see what the car does on the new setup.

On the subject of other fun things at the rental yesterday, besides Ron running the first 8 in his 170…. Adam brought the Grinch. Recall I drove it at Pomona last month. Five years ago this was one of the fastest Hellcats in the country. Now days it has a stock HC motor wearing a Whipple 3.0 for a hat. It is back to being a street driven car. It’s been surprisingly fast for a stock long block and drivetrain So yesterday he goes out and knocks down a 8.90 at 154 mph. Thing is though…. You mess with the Grinch and he’ll ruin your Christmas. “I think this thing will go 80’s. What do you think” he asks. I said…. NO. I was right 😬 2A0A9A77-A4C0-4552-AAC2-D48933DE417C.jpeg

Internet trolls suck 😒. “Why do you need the sissy sticks? “Coyotes run sevens without them”. I pretty much hate FB so I just don’t respond. Ever seen one of the Utube videos where the big wheelie goes bad and crashes the car? There’s plenty of them. Guess how much money that costs 😒. Ever see what happens to the front suspension, oil pan and headers when you pull out of the gas when it’s on the rear bumper? Guess how much money that costs 😒. Getting the no bar traction control tuning and chassis settings dialed in is a trial and error process. In the mean time those bars are insurance. Sometimes they’re a hindrance. If you hit them too hard, they will unload the tire. If you hit them just right, it’s a thing of beauty. My best pass this week was one of those. It carried the wheels on the bars just right for about 150 feet with no fear of it going bad. The sixty was a 1.25 with the rear wheels. I’m going to guess that means the fronts went over the light at about 1.19. Trolls can suck it. 🧌 675F3240-7062-4542-ACAC-2A9209893E57.jpeg

I always told myself my 3.0 had 20's in it on boost!!! hell yeah man great times!
I’m sure it was on a 8.1 pass but I screwed it up. When I was pulling into the burnout, a car on track in front of me had a problem down track and they shut me down to wait. When I was cleared to restart, I hit the ignition on switch and forgot to turn on the icebox pump. The sixty foot was a 1.25 with the rear tires and I was on my way with a big grin going. Then I could actually feel the timing being pulled at mid track. After the chute was out and I was under control I looked up to see the intercooler pump was not on and was saying F, F, F at the turn off 😑. The 8.24 I ran on that pass was down 3 mph from what it otherwise would have been. Oh well. Dumb ass driver is always a factor 🤡

I showed some pictures previously of my LME ((Late Model Engines) intercooled intake for the turbos. . One thing I had to have redone was the throttle body attachment. They pushed a wrong button in the CNC program and I ended up getting it setup for a Nick Williams 108. Not what I’m using so back to the machine shop for a do over. Just got it back and…. Nice! That will work 👍🏼

Update on stuff…. The machine shop had a glitch while honing one of the cylinders. This was being done on a brand new CNC machine and it scratched the cylinder wall on shutdown. Nothing goes right 🙄. The decision was made to sleeve that cylinder. That was on their dime. They offered to replace the entire block with a new one and do everything over, but that was not agreeable. Too much time and money invested and that would set us back another who knows how long. So…. It’s done and back. Ready to start putting it together. I will post some engine porn when it happens. Now the second part….. the guy who owns this machine shop has some of the most advanced stuff and capabilities out there. He is calling it quits. Retirement is calling. Adam is going to buy what he needs to provide his own machine capability to complete his engine building services. To manage that… he is looking at selling the blue car. Completely set up and 7.50 capable without nitrous. You know which one I’m talking about. Fastest stock frame/blower only Redeye in the country. For that one idiot out there who is thinking about starting from scratch on a project like this….. don’t do it ! You can buy this one for half what that costs. Don’t ask me how much. I’m not a part of that now. I can answer questions about the details of the car , but anybody seriously interested has to talk to Adam at Spankintime. IMG_3656.jpeg IMG_3661.jpeg IMG_4370.jpeg

No it isn’t. The original owner of that car told me he had over $250k in total invested. Of coarse that included the original cost of the car. 2019 Widebody Redeye. The reason most can’t do this from scratch is you have to have a full time connection/sponsorship with a shop that has this capability or be able to do it yourself. This car probably has a thousand hours of labor. It’s just astounding the amount of work involved.

Sorry to hear that about your block, glad they got you fixed up. Where are the wheelie bars connected to on the blue car if it’s a stock frame car? Does that mean independent rear suspension?

No. It has the same 2015 DragPak 4-link as mine. IMG_0999.jpeg
