I love the Granite Pockets wheels on my 22. Another reason I didn't feel so bad when they cancelled both of my 2023 Redeye orders - by that time there were no wheel options left..
Those are my close second favs after brass monkeys;)

Agree. The std black wheels may appeal to the younger guys, but to an old guy like me, black wheels kinda look like the steel wheels missing hubcaps back in the day.

But! The Matte Vapor wheels look great (to me)! I have the Granite Pocket and they really look good, but they are a real PITA to clean! In retrospect I would have preferred the Matte Vapor just because I'm lazy...

Your wheels would be a close second to my Hyperblack split spokes. And if the car wasn't Granite, I'd probably prefer yours.

Also, I spent some money on Alcoa outers for my new trailer - because it came with black wheels. Yes, it would've been cheaper to paint the stock steel wheels silver, but then they'd look (while better) as econo car wheels.

I like the ones in your avatar. Basically I like all the old slingshot variations.

Thanks.

Mine came with optional 5-spokes, a $1,000 option as I recall, and while they weren't black they sure weren't far from it. Took me a while to figure out that what I wanted wasn't Brass Monkey (eventually learned that it was the color, not the style of wheel).

Really lucked out and found a NOS set of Hyperblack wheels at a dealer on eBay for a very good price. Then found a really nice used one on eBay that I bought as a spare.

My strategy has worked so far. By having a spare wheel I haven't creamed one yet.

Have you changed the brake pads? I did and they really cut down on the cleaning time for those wheels. The factory pads expell dust like a weightlifter's chalk block, only in black

So I finally had a moment to drop by Melloy, they actually have 2 new redeyes, that octane red one and also this triple nickel with a 11/23 build date.

and at least 12 other hellcats and 5 Durango hellcats.

makes you wonder how many redeyes they threw together at the last second???

Go for it, Eric!

I almost bought a base V6 Challenger the other day. It's $21K...or an extra $1.5K for an AWD. They even have one in Triple Nickle at this TX dealership.

But as tempting as that was, to have a basic beater car, having five Challengers may be a bit much. Although, to keep the miles down on your new Redeye...

The AWD is a great drivetrain. Our 2014 Charger SXT AWD is still going strong 10 years later at 125K miles and gets 31 mpg (when I drive it). Otherwise it gets 19mpg with the wife...but that's a subject for an entirely different thread. :p

Seems like the color balance is off in this picture?

You can take more photos once it's in your driveway.

I'm sure she would.

Something like "Oh, you finally bought a new one! Great color, by the way."

Your TV salary should cover a new RE + ADM, right?

And here I thought it was wives that bought shoes.

Then again, with no kids (or a wife) I have very limited experience on the subject.

When the 17yr old leaves home, the costs are only going to increase.

Exponentially...

I'm thinking about it when I retire from land speed trials. ;)

It may be the worst place to have extra weight, but dust doesn't weigh all that much. And weight doesn't matter at all for top speed runs, unless it's only a short one.
