It may be the worst place to have extra weight, but dust doesn't weigh all that much. And weight doesn't matter at all for top speed runs, unless it's only a short one.
Weight is not nearly as important in Speed Trials as drags, but stopping w/o a chute can get interesting! :)

You have an inside hood release, don't you?

Just get rid of the safety latch.

Have you seen the pics of the hood corners pulling up at speed?!?!? I am shocked it all holds!

There's a reason they used leather straps to hold the hoods down in the past - at much lower speeds.

Not a RE but if this is any indicator, the HCs are gonna be sitting around for a while. On one of the 7-8 Durango HCs a local dealer has. No mark ups and EP and still sitting.

I'm guessing the dealer expects to get a stupid premium when customers look at what else is on the lot! It’s either a Hornet or an overpriced RE! What would you do! :ROFLMAO:

The late-into-the-game-buyers deserve this!
Intetest rates are probably killing the market more then anything. I still say buy used and save a ton of money

Agree, except if a buyer needs financing, they either overpay at a used car lot to get a low rate, or they can do a private sale and get a high rate at the bank.

I sold a car once and we did the title transfer at the local credit union and he got a very reasonable rate, way lower than banks. He was a smart buyer!

Was at the dealer this morning for a service, feel like I’m walking through 1971 seeing all these muscle cars on the lot. They have a ton of Challengers, various 392 cars and T/A & 1320s, also a lot of hellcats. Since I was there last - one Sublime car sold, octane redeye is gone but triple nickel redeye is still there. 5 Durango hellcats too.

Wish I could buy them all and put them away.

You might need a bigger garage, Eric. But I agree, they would be nice to have.

Speaking of buying cars, those $21K SXTs are still bugging my brain cell. That's less than Carvana wants for used ones..

I could never drive a V6 Challenger, feels against the moral fabric of what the car is. Camaro or Mustang V6 maybe…as a rental or my daughters first car

They corner a bit better, if that helps.

Of course, part of that might be that I can drive it differently, not worrying too much about wrapping it around a tree.
It would be far less costly.

You could always use the black key! ;)

Never would think you would see that in 2024. When we were 1st looking for a scat pack in 2017 we went to a dealership around detriot and it was like being at a car show. Every model and color of scat packs and everything else

He didn't tell us the asking prices though. ;)

Like the TRX, the GTs only come with black keys.

Unless you meant drive the 'Cat with the black key. If so, I wouldn't feel any less bad after destroying it by going off the pavement regardless of if it was with 707 hp, or "only" 500.

After all, they use the black keys at Radford, still leaving plenty of power to screw up in the curves.

to be able to have that many is crazy. They may not be discounting them but most dealerships haven't had anything

You know I honestly don't know where they are at on their pricing right now, they probably will deal a little. All of them right now are just sitting there with the MSRP window stickers. As I was looking at a lot of them, they have listed base prices around $65k, but all have a bunch of options and option packages that push even the cheapest ones to $81k+. This includes $3k for the automatic transmission, even like $100 for different colored trim on the floor mats, I remember thinking WTF?!?

Like I said in another post, these could be on the verge on being re-invoiced giving the dealer a lot more freedom with marking the price down. All Hornets and Rams have very recently been re-invoiced down by 15%. $50k Hornets are now $42k, could probably bargain them down a little more because apparently they are not selling at all.

I can see why they aren't selling, when dealers in Texas and the southeast are discounting them big time.

Then again, lots of people don't shop around.

They are still trying to sell this one. Was thinking about offering $77k? Would I regret it? All of the leftover regular Hellcats are $10-$11k off, they have a lot of them left!
