I'd say the stock filter on the stock pump is adequate or it wouldn't be there. You're over thinking it. It's just a tiny mesh filter. The point is the upgraded pumps have a much better filter on them, and larger, than stock. You're limited on what you can put on the stock pump because it sits in a small bucket.

OK , I do tend to over think stuff , LOL. Especially on cooling & filtration.

Yeah OK , but if there is a better sock filter for stock pump ?... I would do it.

What is your opinion on the stock filter ?

It's a special type material. I've seen it before, and I had actually thought about it for these drop in pump applications. The alternative it to run closer to 1/2 tank and consider 1/4 empty for WOT purposes.

Wow! That is a game changer. No more needing to run an additional 50 lbs of fuel in the tank to keep from sucking air. Hopefully Fore will have them available for their multiple pump systems and they will work with ethanol.

Funny you should mention fuel weight . Every time I go racing I start my day off with a full tank of fuel .

I find I hook better with a full tank of fuel, the extra 75 lbs seems to be a plus for me at least, hell what’s another 75 lbs on 4600 lol

Gasoline is 6lbs per gallon. E85 is 6.5 for reference. I normally keep mine around 1/2.

The reason I do it because I find the first thing in the morning the track surface is not that great so the extra weight helps off the line . As the day goes on and the track surface gets better I will have less fuel by then any way . It's no problem to burn 1/2 tank of fuel in a dozen passes or so .

If you want an easy way to empty the 1/2 the tank by running the pump go for it. Saddle type fuel tanks with a jet pump on 1 side will only empty the pump side of the tank when the pump is ran without a restriction.
