We made it to Houston. No issues. Parked, checked in at the hotel and about to eat dinner. Hoping tomorrow goes smoothly...

AFAIK it has the same tank as all the others. It's listed as 18.5 gal capacity.

We survived the weekend and made it back home early this morning. Driving straight through from Houston to Shelbyville sucks.
Some of this info is on the LOD thread in the Drag Racing section but I thought it might be good to consolidate it here since it'll be less likely to get lost over time.

Tune wise Jon Moored had me right where I needed to be. It took a few revisions here at home to get the cold start dialed in just right and such but by the time we headed for Houston the engine and trans were both happy. The simple change of injectors and the engine/trans tune from Jon REALLY woke my car up.

The suspension changes were 100% worth the effort. There were many cars in Houston that had traction issues all weekend. I had basically none. I made 12 runs with a 60' of 1.35 or better, 10 of them were 1.33 or better with a best of 1.306. Incredible. The car leaves hard, goes straight with no wiggles under power like they do with the stock components.

The weight reduction was pretty straightforward and allowed me to get the car/driver combo fairly light. Not "Ron" light, but still pretty light. With me in it and half tank of fuel it weighed 4260. I'm happy with that for no more effort than was made to lighten the car.

In the end my best et/mph was 9.413/144.46. DA on that run was -759. Not too shabby.

I'm really impressed with how your project turned out Bo. I do think the secret part of the puzzle is the 15 in. conversion.
What size injectors did Jon have you install?

Thanks Mike.
I don't plan to add any boost so Jon suggested we use 1200cc injectors.

The 1200s will still be good if you put a 3.10 on 🤣

What steps beyond where the SS is now, if any, will be a topic of debate here at the house for a little while. I can almost promise you a 3.10 will not be it. :)
After seeing how easily a well prepared Whipple car can get in the 8's the wife is telling me to go get a used REWB or such and just get to it...

The right tuner makes all the difference. I thought before I bought my car it would take a lot of mods to get it into the 9's. With E85 you have to update the fuel system but with just a pulley in good air I would have been 9.6-9.7. I did run 9.86 in 2000 DA

100% agreed vortec.
On a different note, my son's '23 TRX was delivered today. That thing is cool.

Thx Mike. I got a few miles on the street setup yesterday. As we all would expect the ETStreetR's hook the car pretty good on the street. I can hit it hard from 60 and it goes rather than spins.

The cradle lockouts and AAD arms transfer a good bit of rear end noise into the car but that's to be expected since all the vibration reducing bushings are either replaced or tightened up a lot.

My local e85 tests to be 75% ethanol. I suppose I'll need another revision from Jon with less timing since that's what I intend to use for the street. The less expensive fuel is a plus but the crappy fuel mileage is a corresponding minus.

I'm hoping to have a true 9 second pump e85 car when the dust settles. I'd think that won't be an issue.
