The bars are adjustable and are in the lifted position. That places the wheels at just under 10” off the ground. Plus they are short in that they don’t stick out but a few inches behind the bumper. It would be a extreme circumstance that they would hit in that position. For the track they are run at 4 to 5 inches.

Here’s the next to final interior phase. When the cage gets upgraded to the 7.5 cert this summer in preparation for the 3.8 Whipple and my quest for the sevens in the fall...., I will have to replace my beloved seats. They are so comfortable and look so good. Nicest race/street seat out there in my opinion. Those seats weigh about 35 lbs each with my home made brackets. I will have to go to the standard Kirky’s that weigh about half that. The reason (other than weight) is with the “funny car” cage that encloses the drivers seat... I would not be able to remove this seat from the car. It would be trapped in place and I can’t have that. The Kirky being smaller, lighter and attached to a different type of bracket, will still be removable without doing away with the center console. I do not plan on removing the console or stock dash as this thing is going to remain a Hellcat and not a gutted Challenger. Anyway..... one of the mods you can see here is the lowered (welded in) door bars. They are now modeled after the new DragPak and make for easy access with the 7.5 hoop in place.
Ready to rock tomorrow night 🥳. A couple conservative timing passes to check the data and we’ll put the wood to her. Tommy Peters and Tim Barth on the keyboards live!
Here a couple screen shots of my friend Brian’s Redeye (another Utah Hellcat) that we just got the cage finished on and certed for 7.5 seconds.
