I’ve had a chute on my car for some time now and only really needed it on a half mile way back when I did that. Recently I switched to that very light weight front brake setup and will actually need to deploy that thing on every pass. I have hated that damn spring pilot chute to the point of not using it just to prevent having to repack it. It is also so slow to open it would never be if any use in the event of an emergency
So…. Time to upgrade! I spent the day installing a new pneumatic launch version. The same CO2 system that is being used to shift the transmission will power this guy. A pneumatic ram basically launches the chute pack into the sky and boom…. near instant deployment 😎. I have also added a air powered chute handle that fires off at the push of a button on the steering wheel to start the process. Keep both hands on the wheel at all times! 😬. 84700E1C-6595-41F6-AE06-06D23AD1D96E.jpeg AF13D4CD-70B0-4426-899F-13470FBFD79B.jpeg 79F3CE37-A590-4991-9F8D-B7D47C0D46E2.jpeg FD4B84E5-F939-4242-B661-488E57308A91.jpeg 369C41E5-2902-4D6A-9558-A548C7F76E1C.jpeg 5100617F-1C70-4D85-BE01-A4FD7882996F.jpeg

I’ve moved my expectations to fall. To be honest…. I hate running in the heat. In that respect, if it ain’t fun, I don’t want to do it. Although the car is just a few days worth of serious work from running, I have a growing list of modifications that includes fabricating custom stuff. I see a couple months of doing that. Example….. we’re going to go to the sheet metal valve covers for plug access. Crankcase breathing with these is proving to be a issue and a breather/catch can redesign is in the works. This is being designed and fabricated from scratch. Also working with Whipple on a new intake with filter to work with this and the new 3.8 supercharger. The new filter design and size is impressive 😮.

Time for some more trailer pics and info…. I got the air cond installed and generator placed and wired in. My goal was to be able to run the generator and power the trailer while on the road. That way I can cool it down for the night time rest stops when hauling cross country. For anyone who might consider an enclosed trailer for those long hot weekends at the races… I went with air conditioners made by RecPro. These are made in Australia vs China for the common RV units (Dometic/Coleman). There is no comparison! The are so quiet you can hardly hear them running and they have internal t-stats that use a wireless remote. They also have heat. I went with a a huge 9500 watt Harbor Freight “Predator” Inverter Genest to work with the 50amp service in the trailer. The thing is basically a Toy Hauler RV now. How loud is that predator generator in that size? I've never heard one of the invertor generators from them. I know my 9500 wyatt generator standard portable is pretty loud

Well, it says “Super Quiet” right on the side 😂. It’s what I would call moderately quiet. Not as quiet as the 3500 Predator I had in my previous trailer. That was very quiet. Where I have it mounted with the exhaust facing forward, it will be not be a noise or exhaust issue for my pit, or the neighbor on the other side of me like it would if it was in the gen cabinet on the other side. I wanted to use that large insulated space to store fuel because I don’t want it inside the trailer living space. Generators this size can be staggeringly expensive. This was on sale for less that $2k so a bargain for sure. The 3500 I had was flawless and this had the same good reviews.

That's good to hear. Anything that size you can have a conversation over is a good buy.
Did you sell you parachute? I am regretting not buying it now when It popped up.

Well….. It’s basically a rev limiter that you set for your launch rpm and when you activate it (button) you can floor the gas and it will hold your rpm point until you release the button. You need a higher than stock stall converter to effectively use one and generally they are used in tandem with a trans brake. I suppose one could be used foot braking and it would be interesting to try that. I think one could definitely be useful with the Demon trans brake to keep the rpm in that window.

I was more wondering the minimum rpm of the 2 step. If I bought it it would be going on a redeye. I'm assuming 2k is the lowest rpm set point? How much are you looking for? I am on stock Convertor for at least the rest of this season.

It’s adjustable in 1000 and 100 rpm settings. In the picture you can see that I have it set at 3000. I have never tried it but it looks like you could set it below 1000 in 100rpm increments. I have no idea how well that would work. B73D5849-8868-477A-83EA-BFD71D88E1B3.jpeg EE8AB8FD-B74D-4072-99B2-78511BE61114.jpeg 03AFA37F-52D1-4700-B822-22D46642912F.jpeg

On the 1000rpm dial (one on the left) it goes down to zero. It is set on 3. It is certainly possible that the minimum rpm that it will work at is 2000 (that would make sense) but I have not actually read that. I’m going to need to get some questions answered about that harness. That is a custom add-on to the 2-Step from Stage6 Motorsports and I need to find out more about the coil pack plugs and wiring. We were joining it together with a Autometer tach adapter (I didn’t do that wiring) and I need to find out if those plugs were modified or not before I sell it. What I find out will determine what it’s worth.
